Fan Beat Upside The Head On Stage w/ Snoop & Game

On Saturday, a ‘loyal fan' was beat down on stage at the "How The West Was One" tour featuring Snoop Dogg and The Game.

This weekend, 24-year-old Richard Monroe claims that he was pummeled after jumping on stage to dance to the "Gin and Juice" classic at the Snoop Dogg and Game concert at the White River Amphitheatre in Auburn. Monroe reported to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer that he was attacked by approximately twelve people who punched and kicked him repeatedly. He also alleged that they stole his watch, cell phone, wallet, and diamond studs.

According to eyewitnesses, among the twelve attackers were Snoop Dogg, The Game and Oowee. Marshall Thatcher, 17, who sat in the front row stated, "The Game was throwing everything he had into it and you could see Oowee moving back and forward and kicking the guy. I was kind of shocked."

Monroe was taken by ambulance to Auburn Regional Medical Center and was treated for bruised ribs, a broken nose and a busted lip.

Monroe labels himself as "a loyal fan" of Snoop Dogg and said that shortly after getting onstage, the rapper's bodyguards pounced on him and dragged him to the back of the stage. "White River security guards didn't do anything. They didn't help," said Monroe. "What are they there for?"

The administrators from the Auburn venue acknowledged that a fan had approached the artist on stage "unexpectedly" and was removed.

White River Amphitheatre's executive director, Lance Miller, commented, "The safety and security of our artists and our patrons is very important to us. We fully support the local authorities in their investigation of this incident."
Some questioned whether the brawl was staged by the rappers to engage the audience's attention. Monroe responded, "It was no act. They beat me like a slave. It's horrible. They just went too far."

This so called "loyal fan" didn't had permission to jump on stage and dance in the first place.

The security guards are too afraid they'll get shot if they do anything.
These guys are all a bunch of fucking thug losers. I've always despised Snoop. He doesn't fool me one bit. He's a total creep!

I feel sorry for the real hip/hop artists out there who are trying to make good music. It seems to me that many are only in it for the $$ and the expensive thug life they can lead when they start selling records.

It's shameful, but people keep buying the records and attending the concerts. I have no idea why

Actually, it's the security guards a lot of times doing the shooting and anatagonizing at shows. It's a mixture of all parties —- from the security, the crowds, entourages, even the actual performers.



I've never been a fan of Snoop. I think he is a f**king joke. He is nothing but a studio gangster. I've heard stories from actual gang members in Compton/Long Beach area and Snoop was actually beat down once for his braggadocio back in the mid-'90s. Of course, MTV News never reported it and his people never confirmed it.



It's s**t like this that makes me disassociate myself from hip hop more and more. I didn't want to believe the hype at first about folks downing hip hop. But the culture is counterproductive at best and it's only dragging us blacks down further. We can try to rationalize it all we want, but truth is truth. Hip hop is hurting us.

Not that I approve of "beating someone like a slave", but you never know which artist could be the next Dimebag Darrell, unfortunately.

I hear you. Shit like this is giving an entire genre of music a very bad name. There was a time when I enjoyed hip/hop and loved watching the videos etc. Now I'm just disgusted by it all. Granted, there are some artists trying to make good music and are not leading the thug life, but there are far too many that are and it's sickening.

Don't get me wrong. There is good hip hop out there, but I'm tired of the culture and the lifestyle I see everywhere. I tried really, really hard to be as relative as possible and not pass judgment. "They're just talking about reality... they're telling stories." I've come across many of these individuals through my work and I don't like what I see. I don't agree with what I see from the kids in L.A. to Detroit to NYC to the middle American suburbs. The music is damaging a lot of things. I listen to a FEW hip hop songs nowadays. I rarely purchase rap music anymore. I can count on one hand the few rap purchases I've made since 1999 — and that's sad as hell.

This is coming from someone who loves old BDP, Brand Nubian, Monie Love, Nikki D, Bahamadia, Rah Digga, Self-Scientific, Scienz of Life, Queen La, solo KRS-One (before "I Got Next"), Lost Boyz, etc. This s**t nowadays (Ying Yang, 50, Who sucked Mike Jones?, Trillville, etc.) is garbage and I WON'T support it with my dollars. Even if I like something, I'll illegally download it before I go out and spend my money on it. After Puff Daddy hit the scene, mainstream rap turned to sh**e and has never recovered.

I'm waiting for hip hop to go back to what it was. I don't know when that's going to happen and I'm not going to wait anymore.

Okay...there's a lot of things wrong with the current hip-hop scene, but you are stretching it with this one, homey...You can got to any rock, pop, of hip-hop concert and you will find instances of fans getting ruffed-up by security guards...there's nothing new about this...When fans jump onstage, they risk being pummeled by security guards...

So let me get this straight....A guy jumps on stage at a hip hop concert featuring "Gangsta" rappers....He gets beat down (as he should for jumping on stage) robbed and sent on his way and he is shocked and offended by this? After all isn't that the "Gangsta" thing to do? Beat down someone who runs up on you? That's like jumping out of a moving vehicle and then blaming the person driving....

That is probably the quickest way to get 'beat down' in my opinion. Why would anyone risk that one? He should have at least waited for an invitation.

Look, the guy jumped on stage and put his arm around Snoop. I think that would have surprised anyone.

But they went way too far. They could have subdued him and sent him on, but that wasn't enough. They had to beat him down.

They wouldn't have dared done that to a white guy or they'd all be in jail.

I like Snoop as MC and pop icon. But that ain't the real cat, and people have to remember his background. Calvin Broadus is a gangbanger and probably always will be. So are his boys. They reacted as they would react on the streets. That's not an excuse or a good thing. That's just the way it is.

Now we know that there is something wrong with the Hip-Hop fans. Snoop could of had security remove the guy from the stage. Something that takes place at Rock shows all the time.

Kicking and stomping was not nessercary and I hope Snoop gets sued into next Tuesday for this crap.

I just saw the video and homeboy got WHUPPED. It looked like Snoop wasn't bothered by it until the guards or whoever came and beat him up. It's pathetic and all of it should have never happened. but unfortunatly this kind of thing won't stop anytime soon.
