My LIVE 8 Prediction.........

Well having been glued to my TV as a 15 year old at 6 am on a saturday morning in Brooklyn NY watching Status Quo and Bob Geldof and the Boomtown Rats open LIVE AID, and wondering WOW how am I going to watch this TV all day, but I did. Never turning the TV off or walking away, I had the VCR going nonstop. As i sat there and watch the Amazing performances of my favorites like Sting, Phil Collins, Duran, Queen, Elton, U2 and many others, I thought too myself this would never happen again. Well its 20 years on, and I still listen to the bands i did back then (mainly because they record amazing stuff still), and I think WOW could it happen again, well like any great moment, it cant be recreated and it will never feel that way, but its not because I am older, I know that NO teenager of today will feel what I felt on that day, U see the LOVE of music is gone today, theres no Loyality to artists, music is no more than a fashion to the kids of today, like a new shirt or a pair of sneakers. But Im not here to talk about that Im here to make my LIVE 8 PREDICTION and it is the following..

Like on that JULY 13 Saturday in 1985, most of the viewers agree that QUEEN stole the show, and it wasnt because of what they played but more of how they played it. it wasnt about promoting their new single or making some kind of statement to reflect on them, they let the performance speak for itself.

I feel that LIVE 8 will have a show stealer once again and it will be.....

A-HA playing in front of their largest fan base (next to norway) in BERLIN GERMANY.

My guess the AHA set will include the following

Lifelines( if u have seen the video u know why)
Stay on these roads (acoustic/accapella)
Summer Moved On (their biggest European hit)
Hunting High and Low (crowd sing along, it always happens)
Take on Me (why not!)

HOWEVER unlike 1985 when QUEEN stole the show, this performance will not be seen.

My guess is that most likely MTV will cover this event, but unlike 1985 when they did a pretty good job, this time it will be all about MTV . So we will have Maroon 5 and 50 cent jammed down our throat, and COUNTLESS MEANINGLESS speeches from SWAY and JON NORRIS talking about how great Maroon 5 are and "what a great day", well hopefully there will be a DVD.

Or maybe MTV or VH1 will really Save the Music.
