But what he did was smart - he knew that this show is one of the most watched new shows on TV so he capitalized on it thinking millions of people would see him debut one of his new songs (granted, I doubt it will boost any record sales) but it was a good PR move on his part. Not sure if "survivor" is actually part of of the new track or he threw it in just to say he was doing a cover, but the rap itself is from something he seemed to be recording in the studio when they were doing the "where are they now" piece.

He opened for Culture Club on their 1998 reunion tour and was actually pretty good. I love that song NO ONE IS TO BLAME. His flock of seagulls rip-off hair-do was another story.

When Howard Jones performed on the UK version (he lost out to Tiffany) he sung "What is Love" and his chosen cover version was Dido's "White Flag".

He should have won!

But WHat is Love is not one of his stronger songs...he should have done Things can only get better or No one is to Blame.

Vanilla Ice is back...we are witnessing the dawn of a new Ice Age. My prediction: one million copies of his new album fly off the shelf the first week.

Irene will perform "Flashdance", and for the new song, she is doing Anastacia's "I'm Outta Love".

"What is Love" is a Howard Jones classic and put him on the map with MTV. And his hair dew was wild back in those days.....he's a bit more talented than Flock of Seagulls in my opinion. I think he will win tonight. Or Cameo depending on how they do. I can't imagine that Larry Blackman's voice still has that nasal tone that everyone loved so much.

I love Howard's "Everlasting Love". That was my favorite song by him. He is singing "No one is to blame" tonight.

Is wang chung singing live over the original music recording? OOH! OOH! Sophie B. hawkins! One of my favorite songs!!!! Wow ...she's rocking...but she needs to put on some deodorant.

on a side note, why do they bother having "backup" bands when the background music is prerecorded?

Howard Jones will play to the US audience. He didn't really sell their until the second album so they will get "No one is to blame".

Personally, I think he'd win with his new version of "Hide and seek".

Its a 10 minute opus!

WOW! Irene Cara WON!!!

1. Sophie B Hawkins should've picked a cover song that was more flattering to her voice.
2. Howard Jones needs a makeover.
3. The lead singer of Cameo needs to get rid of that stupid cockpiece already!!!

Today, the doody has hit the fan when the old hag Irena Cara won. I sorry but Irena Cara has lost what little bit of voice she had from drugs and it sounded like. Thus, she relied to heavy on back up singers hrmph.

Secondly, the Sophie Hawkins broad and Wang Chung weren't any better. Both of them sounded washed up. In Wang Chung's case, they could've reedemed themselves by singing Dance Hall Days and not coming back and butchering Hot In Herre. As for Sophie, she was looking like something the cat dragged in.

At the end of the day, the only two acts the were still on par were Cameo and Howard Jones. Cameo and Jones were the only real competitors in my opinion and I feel that the show producers cheated them. Those cheating muthafuckas mad This is the last time I watch this bullshit show every again hmph!.
