The Official Michael Jackson in Court Thread XIII: The Deliberation

Wow... this is finally coming to an end. Did the prosecution create guilt by a reasonable doubt? Did the defense create reasonable doubt?

We shall soon find out.

Sad thing is, if he's convicted, it'll be painful to read things like "hope he rots in jail" sad

I'm gonna change my avatar and signature in honour of Michael

actually, there should be two more. because this one should be "closing arguments".... no one's deliberating anything yet. after that is deliberation, then the verdict.

question: should all the jury members agree for a "guilty" decision or is it a vote @ the majority?

all of them have to agree to guilty...
if they can't decide...
a mistrial is declared and a new trial is made

I have no idea about the trial, i have not really been following it. All i can hope is that true justice is served - whatever that may be. All i would like to say is that when i look at michael jackson i dont deliberate whether or not he's guilty or whether he's innocent. Nor does his phyical appearance startle me. All i ever notice when i see pictures of him are his eyes. In his eyes i see an exceptionally troubled soul. you can see the pain inside him, for whatever reason that may be.

just an observation

Hey kids, I haven't been very vocal during the trial. Boring grown up stuff like work gets in the way.

I have been following it though, and I must admit I can't really see why so many think it's going so well for MJ. I can see that the prosecution has many holes, but innocent or guilty the man must be through with his career now. From both the defence and the prosecution I see a man who I just don't like anymore...

I must admit though, as a Jackson fan in the past I am feeling very sad as we reach the verdict. If MJ is found guilty I think the repurcussions will be felt worldwide, by myself included. I feel for all those fans on here who, for their own reasons believe he is innocent of all charges. The outcome, no matter which way it swings can only be tragic in my mind right now.

JACKSON TO QUIT AMERICA

BANG

(BANG) - Michael Jackson is reportedly planning to quit America for a secret life abroad if he wins his child abuse trial.

The eccentric star - whose molestation court case is set to end next week - is making serious plans to leave his homeland instantly, if he is found innocent, according to insiders.

Jackson, who earlier this week allegedly sold his Neverland Ranch for $35millionUS and has always promised to do a world tour if cleared of the charges, is believed to want to move to Europe or Africa where he will lie low until the resulting publicity of the trial blows over.

US columnist Roger Friedman revealed to America's Fox News TV: "Those in the know tell me Jackson is already planning an almost instant move.

"Whether it's temporary or permanent is up in the air, but Jackson knows he has to take a breather from America if he wants to rehabilitate his career. My money is on London or Paris but some say Africa."

Earlier this week, Jackson reportedly sold his beloved Neverland to a mystery buyer as his debts spiralled out of control.

Jackson denies all charges against him.

Ok then. Then that's your own opinion. We are not talking about his career nor are we concerned with it as of right now. I can't believe you would even think about that now. We or aleast I am concerned of what the outcome of the trial will be, not his career.

It just seems ironic that a black man(some of u might not think he is because u think he bleached his skin) who is the most famous, most influential, and the most popular entertainer in the history of this world is at the lowest point in his life. Yes, some of this he brought on himself. He's naive and stubborn. But a lot of it didn't. Michael didn't stay in his place and I think that's why many white men are out to get him. If you notice, the only people involved in this case who are trying to set him up are white. I am not blaming an entire race nor am I saying that Michael isn't responsible for everything that came upon him. It just seems whenever a black man or woman becomes sucessful and/or sets records, it seems like there is always going to be some white people(esp. white men) that want to bring that man or woman down.

If this wasn't true I'd flame the hell out of anybody who'd post these kind of comments. However, in this case the comment is more than relevant. Anyone who has watched footage of Tom Sneddon gving his statements can tell he is not exactly the epitome of the most open-minded law enforcer, is he? But it's not just an issue of being black. Moreover this goes way beyond just the typical notions of racial identity.

Michael Jackson wouldn't be on this trial if he didn't look like a woman and have the audacity to turn from black to white. You might think I am exaggerating, but think again. You might still think I'm exaggerating, but yet think again.

Do you mean that he's on trial because he looks different? If that's what you meant, then I agree with you.

Oh come on. I'm not denying that he has suffered in the media because of his "style choices" but to say that this is all because he is a black man that has turned white is laughable. He is on trial because he openly sleeps with young boys. He is on trial because one of them has accused him of molestation. The same would happen to an ordinary man on the street, whatever colour.

Michael said in the documentary he slept with children, not young boys. He also said he slept on the floor while the accuser slept in the bed.

one that is true, you obviously know nothing about this trial or the case for that matter...
what you do know is what the media feeds you...
Now i suggest do not comment on things you don't know.
expecially when it comes to the racial issues of this case...

Cause if you know the background of the Santa Barbara, Sheriffs Department
You know The background of D.A. Thomas Sneddon, and his pursuit of michael jackson, you know this is racially induced...
But because of people like you who think of it as merely throwing "the race card" is why this justice is not as blind as it claims to be.

and your no doubt wrong that this could happen to anybody...
you think its because sleeping with children?
you are no doubt wrong!

Race has alot to do with it...
and you know what... no matter the outcome of this case,
the feds win either way...
he goes to jail, or he leaves the country

They wanted him out of Santa Barbara so badly, they certainly acomplished it.

If the police were so dedicated catching REAL child molesters, than their wouldn't be over 75 child porn rings circling the US

Its why sometimes this country makes me sick sometimes

In response to the comments above. I do not deny that racism is still rife. What I cannot agree on is that this entire trial stems from that. He is facing these charges because an accusation was made.

MJ made some very dodgy personal choices. He slept on the floor, sure but he slept on the bed too and slept with young boys. It is evident from his own words and the words of others that he has an odd obsession with young males. And before I am jumped on - I have not said that this is equivalent to being a paedophile.

He was burned once in 1993 and continued to go his own sweet way, nobody brave enough to tell him that he was walking straight into trouble. There are many on this board who believe that they somehow have insider knowledge on this case. I have made an effort to read pro-Jackson accounts as well as the usual tabloid reactions. Both are equally as biased and equally omit certain details.

I am undecided as to the verdict and I think it is likely that it will be a mistrial.

All I have said is that the MJ presented during this trial is not a man I admire any more. I don't agree with his lifestyle choices but more than that I abhor his self-assured belief that he can do whatever the hell he chooses and not face the consequences.

First i'd like to add

I DON'T CARE!
we've heard this nonesense on this thread, hell everywhere else forever
its dry, its dull, its boring
Your repeating information at a two sided argument,
We all know that it was MJ's personal choices and lifestyle that lead to this preverbial "Endgame"

But you neglect to see the argument...
The conspiracy against him, thats been going on Since 1993...
It doesn't matter if YOUR MIND, is undecided on what you think of michael jackson
who really cares?
just like who really cares, what we think?
whats going to happen is going to happen no matter what we think.

All we have is innuendo, speculation

"Jackson has an obsession with males"
why does it have to be an obsession?
why can it be because he connect better with males?

Does an 11 year old boy hang out with 12 year old girls?
no!!!!
does he have an obsession with male boys, no he merely connects with them...

Though it may seem strange to you,
Jackson, live in an alternate reality,
what you deem as wrong and sinister, is quite the opposite
which is why this case is so Difficult...

We have a Strange man, who's sittuation is so abnormal that he can't be dealt with in a normal fashion.

what you need to do is stop comparing him to an ordinary person
cause an ordinary person he is not (lmfao had a Yoda moment)

Don't read pro MJ accounts cause those are biased too...

why don't you try actually reading the court Transcripts!
its long as hell, but its the only way to decide whats really going on!

every court session i read them...
and then i read a pro MJ newspaper and a Con-Mj newspaper...
and then you know who's really on par!

You think its going to be a mistrial...
I think MJ is going to be convicted,
sad but true...

i just have a gut feeling
the same one, when they let that past allegations nonesence...
