Anita FANATICS (Appreciation Thread)

If y'all are like me.. u cant get enough ANITA. She is a legend in her own rite. I have been a fan for more then 12 yrs. Since I was 13yrs old. I can't remember how I discovered her music.. but I been in love w/ this woman and her voice for so long now. I pray Mrs Baker goes on the road again someday w/ a massive tour.. since I have never had the pleasure to hear her live.

I didn't fully appreciate her music until I saw her live back in 91. She puts on a hell of a live show. I have every single album and both 'best ofs'.

Yeah, she's only got like four or five dates set up, just like the last time she was here at the end of 2002. Come on down and hang.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree... I saw her live with Luther Vandross and I thought her show was one of the most boring concerts I ever saw... she sang the songs EXACTLY like the albums, with no changes or improv. whatsoever... The band also played completely straight and lifeless... I loved her first two albums, but after that they are all the same.

Eh, no problem. I happen to think Compositions is her best album and sounds nothing like the rest of the others.

I'd love to see her in concert if she come through my city, I know it will be ON!!

I don't know why her company isn't working more to promote her recent album, it's wonderful.

I never bothered to listen to Compositions... maybe I'll give her another try... I do like her voice... She's like a new Sarah Vaughan... but I can't stand a "phoned in" performance.

She has three cuts on that album that I love and I listen to at least one of them every single day.

lol I've heard this more than once. I think some of it stems from the fact that Anita started to get a little soured on the biz in the 90s. Can't say I blame her.

No, no, no...I encountered her in the '80's when she was still leaving here in Detroit. She used to live next door to a friend of mine, before she made it BIG. She used to always bitch about us running on her grass neutral

All hail Anita! queen

We luv her! love
tho' I battled blind
love is a fate resigned
memories mar my mind
love it is a fate resigned

Over futile odds
and laughed at by the Gods
and now the final frame
Love is a losing game
