Yesterday I had the pleasure of seeing
Marlena Shaw live in a small club in Stockholm,Sweden.
I have only heard the stuff from the 70's by her
& had no idea she was still around.
The show was just fantastic.A really intense,sweaty clubgig
with an amazing Marlena doing all them classics
like California soul,Mercy mercy mercy,Feel like making love,
Rhythm of love,Run away little boy,Look at me,look at you(were flying)
etc etc
The place was jampacked & I was just infront of the stage with
her right in front of me & I shook her hand also
Just like Gwen McCrae she still has that raw soul energy.
A great sweaty night & a great show it was!
