*"They beat me like a slave," 24-year-old Richard Monroe said about his experience at a Snoop Dogg concert held in Seattle last weekend.

Holding an ice bag to his face, Monroe told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer newspaper that he jumped on stage to get his boogie on at the encouragement of Snoop when the rapper and about a dozen people – including The Game, Oowee and other artists on the bill – dropped him like it’s hot.

Monroe, who lives in Kent, Washington, alleges they punched and kicked him repeatedly, snatched out his diamond earrings, poured alcohol on him and jacked his watch, cell phone and wallet.

"The Game was throwing everything he had into it, and you could see Oowee moving back and forward and kicking the guy. I was kind of shocked," said 17-year-old Thatcher Marshall, who sat in the front section. He said the violence jumped off during Snoop Dogg's song "Gin and Juice."

Anthony Johnson, Monroe's cousin, and Monroe's girlfriend, Sonya Waters, were with him at the concert.

"All they had to do is say you ain't supposed to be on the stage," said Johnson, who remained in his seat with Waters when Monroe jumped on stage. "He was there for a minute with Snoop kickin' it."

Monroe's friends and family allege that Snoop Dogg also hit him in the head with a microphone during the melee. Officials at White River Amphitheatre in Auburn, where Saturday's concert took place, acknowledged that a fan had approached Snoop on stage "unexpectedly" and had to be removed.


Monroe’s eyes were swollen almost shut during the interview with the Seattle Post-Intelligencer Sunday evening. He was taken by ambulance to Auburn Regional Medical Center, suffering bruised ribs, a broken nose and a busted lip, according to his family. He said his 6-foot-3, 250-pound frame prevented him from further injury.


"White River security guards didn't do anything. They didn't help," he told the paper. "What are they there for?"

"They beat me like a slave."

How are slaves beaten?
