Janet Jackson:Throb

With Janet turning 38 (not 39 as reported)
Do U think her pop career is complete?
DamedaJoe holds it's own with the rest of her collection.
With that in Mind I wanted to add that Which song can U
imagine prince collorating on with Janet,
my Choice is throb!
We all want a big hit again because
we want to relive the Hysteria & Pandemonium we experienced
when Purple Rain was Hot. Actually, he doesn't care if it happens again or not.

throb! dancing jig

songs i could see a possible Prince collaboration:
black cat
velvet rope
funny how time flies...
funky big band
if
just a litttle while
all nite
r&b junkie

is her career complete? as in over? shrug that depends on her i suppose.
if her next release is "Damita Jo: part 2", then quite possibly it will be. lol

Then again, she's kinky like a snake..
Huumm.Maybe you are right.
But I've ways heard it was 66.

Really I'm asking, Is the pop world still interested in her?
I work at the wrecka stew and Mariah is Selling out each week!
The pictures I see lately looks like she's retired.

I always wanted Janet to be the next Doris Day
.
If she brought that type of role back she could make it work wink

I think the pop world is still very much interested in Janet. In two ways. 1, will she comeback from her less than stellar year and album? 2. will she 'fail' again. I wouldn't count Janet out yet. Look at Mariah. I do think however people are getting tired of her cooing and wanna be sex kitten antics. Her age has nothing to do with it. well at least not for me. It seems as if she took her career backwards. janet./ rhythm nation/ velvet rope all very strong albums IMO. then she get really watered down and weak sounding on her last couple albums. we already know she has a 'softer' side, rolleyes but we don't want to hear her singing in her sleep either. confused

I'm sure Debbie Gibson singing "Out Of The Blue" gives you a raging hard-on.

No. Infact, I think of a more innocent time in pop music where people like janet and debbie didn't have to pretend to be sexual and do lame brained slow jams. "throb" is lazy.

"Throb" is hot house music. Guess that just isn't your thing. "Throb" ain't a fucking slow jam, that's for sure. Makes me wonder if you even know what song you're talking about, or if you're just bitching about Janet for the sake of bitching about Janet. Prince has done tons of songs that are more explicit and with harder grooves. Go bitch about him.

"Damn baby, shit." - I love that line. That and "My lips hurt" in Rope Burn.

I think "Damita Jo", while not actually a bad album, wa a rare mistep (I think the main reason it sold so poorly was Superboob and Connie's slams). Her career is hardly over. I see her making a new album that will sell very well but leave many fans cold (the next one will be her "Mimi") and then having one album that fans will love that might sell OK.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's not her best reviewed among fans (and I'm not one and don't own the album, so I have no idea). It isn't basically the same album she's made the last five times out? I've heard, "It's better than the last but still not as good as "Butterfly" (which was her first album to use a lot of R&B/hip-hop). I could be wrong but I think that Janet is going to make "DJ, Too" (not a sequel, she's DJ as well.. .) but this time it will sell because she's been humbled and better promoted (is this sounding at all familar?). Not only will she make DJ again, but kiss the dance and pop songs goodbye, so it will be DJ without the songs people liked. "My Baby, Again"...."I (Still)Want You". With JD behind the scenes, don't expect much Janet on this new CD, but it will sell....

Again, I have no idea but this is what I think will happen.

JD is executive producer, because he's running Virgin Urban. He isn't actually producing anything on the LP, so I do expect quite a bit of Janet, actually. Janet is probably going to pull a transition on par with The Velvet Rope --> All For You.

And the fans were not disappointed with the CD, they were disappointed with the hype: it was supposed to be better than Butterfly, but it wasn't. It's still good, and I know of no Mariah fan who's disappointed by it. She hasn't alienated anyone.

Does Janet really belong on Virgin Urban? Really? She's a pop artist and I don't think she is comfortable with the new crunk sound nor are her fans but I know who will be dragging her to do a duet with Usher!

As for Mariah, or any artist with that kind of hype behind a CD, I could have told you that it was just really good marketing and had nothing to do with it being her best CD! Three cheers for good marketing on that CD. I'm sure the music isn't that bad either.

That is where she has been slotted - it has nothing to do with what musical style she espouses. She is black, after all. lol BLACK = URBAN, according to the industry.

Yeah, she, Lenny Kravitz, Slash and Corey Glover should all get together with Li'l Jon and make a "crunkdafied" masterpiece. lol
