fear of a black hat (rap movie) Love this movie. Its been a while since I seen this. I found a english copy the other day (hadn't watched it since my mates brother had it back in the states). Like Spinal tap, but a rap version basically. Immature, funny and dated! But I love the mc SLAMMER joke though Plus "pet the p.u.s.s.y" is better then any c and c factory song. And I love c and c music factory. The songs themselves are great fun and are actually good. I want the cd.

FEAR OF A BLACK HAT
*****WARNING - IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED BY PROFANITY - YOU WILL BE EASILY OFFENDED ***** I thought I was the only one who saw this movie. One of the funniest movies I have seen my life! (Got a copy in my personal stash.) I LOVE the rappers language and intellect. Made sense in rapper kind of way! The video satires were funny and on point. Some of MY FAVORITE parts - * Tast e (dark rapper) had a BIG ASS TROPHY around his neck. * Red-bone rapper scrached the record with his dick. * Don't forget "Vanilla Sherbet"! * Last but not least, they closed the door and stopped the camera because "we got a situation" and proceeded to beat-down the offender. I think it is a very funny movie!!!!! The kind of movie that makes you change body positions when you laugh - the kind I like!!! FYI Rusty Cundieff (writer and director) has done other stuff tooo! Chappelle's Show (2003) - Director Between Brothers (1997) - Creative Consultant Clueless (1996) - Director Movie Credits Sprung (1997) - Writer Sprung (1997) - Director Tales from the Hood (1995) - Writer Tales from the Hood (1995) - Director Fear of a Black Hat (1993) - Writer Fear of a Black Hat (1993) - Director House Party 2 (1991) - Writer House Party 2 (1991) - Story

Alot better then the average and overhyped "cb4" with chris rock. U can buy the cd iam gonna get it next month. The production is legit and the lyrics crack me up. They are real songs with real production values. The end when they all pull a gun on eachother cracks me up too. As does the bit when ice and the other member (forget his name) have a fight and take off all their clothes.

larryluvlife said: N.W.H.in the house! Iam surprised more people have not seen this movie? They all seen lesser stuff like "wildstyle". I guess this film is the wrong era for them. The songs hark back to a more comedic time in hophop which is old school (i.e 2 live crew)

A Hilarious Movie, definitely didn't get the exposure it deserved, And I agree, a thousand times funnier Than that "CB4" movie that Chris Rock and Company came up with! Dead-On parodies of everything from "New Jack City" to C&C Music Factory...and Eric Launeville's cameo as young black director " Jike Spingleton!" was hilarious! ("I'm on your Ass --You Know who I'm Talkin'about"!)
... " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout

I have literally every line of this movie memorized. So damn funny. And the parodies are spot on! I'd consider this movie a must for old school hip-hop fans. It was sadly overshadowed by the more popular and infinitely less funny CB4, but oh well. I know which is better.
I love the Everybody Dance Now send up - P.U.S.S.Y. And the My Adidas parody, My Peanuts, sends me into a giggling fit. The names they managed to come up with for the rappers are hysterical - Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme ("Like Salt and Pepa, but they're two spices and we're four...and they common spices"). Rusty Cundieff is a good director, but it's a shame he's not followed up with anything nearly as good as this. It's also (for my money's worth) one of the most quoteable comedies: Nina Blackburn: What, if any, is the difference between a hoe and a bitch? Tone Def: A hoe fucks EVERYBODY. Ice Cold: Right, but a bitch fucks everybody BUT YOU. _____ Nina Blackburn: So, what's the deal about the hats? Ice Cold: Shit, the hats're what it's all about! See, back when we was still slaves, the white man made the black man work in the fields. Heads totally exposed to the sun. So when the slaves got back from the fields, they was too tired to fight the white man. So what we're sayin' now is: Yo, we got some hats now muh-fuckas! Tasty Taste: And we ain't too tired to bust a cap in yo' ass! _____

Psshh... forget that. CB4 is where it's at. Plus the soundtrack is the shit for Blackstreet's "Baby Be Mine" alone
I dunno, maybe that's because I saw CB4 years before Fear of A Black Hat. I just found it funnier. Not to mention it was my first time seeing Chris Rock in action. I thought he was Flavor Flav but that can be forgiven. I was like 9 at the time [Edited 6/2/05 6:28am]
