I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Mock my words: there's going to be some Columbine-esque event at a hip hop show full of white kids. All h*ll is going to break loose in the media.

Watch.

I'll mark that down (I'd never mock what you say . . . smile)

I don't doubt that could happen.

It's just a matter of time.

Watch it, JANFAN. The cat may have deserved to get rushed off the stage, but there was no need for this.

You're right, purplecam and JANFAN, these fools are gonna go too far one day.

Not at all. Just move him out of the way if they had to but don't beat him up like he's a dog.

It's just sad to see how we treat our own people. Our young brothers and sisters are going to see these cats they idolize doing this and think it's cool, because it suits the image that they've created for themselves. Not to mention the public in general, who look on gangsta rappers like exotic, dangerous animals.

It really makes me sick to even think about it.

I referred to this story before, but I don't think anyone recognized the name.

When a fan jumps onstage at a metal show, this is what happens: http://www.cnn.com/2004/U....shooting/

Thanks for the links purplecam and namepeace. Unfortunately, I'm a MAC user in a PC-centric world, so I can't watch the clips until I get on another machine.

But, stay tuned, I have another thread coming up as an answer to your original NY Times thread, this thread and the Stevie Wonder - Village Ghetto Land thread.

To be continued.

And you know that's gonna happen too. It'll be one of the top stories on the National evening news and there'll be this firestorm of why they let this happen and all that. Congress will get involved and it'll be crazy as fuck.

It'll be just like the steroids crap goin on now--just imagine the congressional committee subponeaing all the major rap labels and their C.E.O.s, P. Diddy, Murder Inc, Aftermath, Shady, Cash Money, Lil Jon, Def Jam and all their artists being called on to tesify. It'd be the biggest massacre in Congress.

After the smoke clears, they'll require all rap labels to pay a "security tax for protection of white folks," the S.T.F.P.W.F bill, that would come out of a percentage of any rap concerts where there would likely be a substantial number of white people in attendance. Said S.T.F.P.W.F. would also be taken out of portion of record sales of Rap CDs, so prices will undoubtedly go up. Congress can never have enough bling bling lol

I saw this. Here, though, the fool who jumped on stage was unarmed. If he had a gun, like the shooter did in that other case, I think Snoop and his crew would have been completely justified.

This so called "loyal fan" didn't had permission to jump on stage and dance in the first place.

Oh, that makes it alright then...

hmm

You pay to go to a concert to see the rapper or singer perform and entertain you on stage, not to jump on stage and dance with them whether your a loyal fan or not.

I completely understand what you are saying....BUT...If you are an artist rap or whatever and some "fan" jumps on stage (and by the video puts his hands on snoop) You can't assume this is just some nice guy wanting to dance or because he looks unarmed at the time you should just "brush" him off stage....Snoop especially and other "gangsta" rappers get death threats all the time...So when someone jumps on stage (who could be crazy...carrying a knife or whatever) and got beat down that is solely on the guy jumping on stage...

Did Snoop and company take it too far...Yeah...but you just don't jump on stage...It's a matter of personal security....The concert security should not allowed him near the artists...But since they did they acted insinctively...And like I said they did take it too far, but they were in their right to protect themselves.
