Classic Dick Cavett shows featuring David Bowie,Sly Stone, Stevie Wonder, etc. to be released on DVD! It'll be 10 shows in their entirety I think at least for the musical guest spread out on three DVDs.Release date is August 2nd:

They should release an edition that includes the Jimi Hendrix...
...and Miles Davis (where Nicolas Cage annoyingly tries to get Miles to give him a trumpet lesson  ) episodes. 
My VHS copy is about to go toast.

Love the Hendrix dvd, it really shows Jimi's personality and sense of humour.
Can't wait for the others mentioned, thanks for the heads up. I'd love to see the Frank Zappa episode because I've got an audio version and Frank was just so intelligent, everytime I listen to it I have to go listen to his music, just inspiring. [Edited 6/3/05 10:53am] | |

The Sly footage is PRICELESS!!! Watching a coked out Sly keep it together on national tv is something to see. The Family Stone were funkin' hard. The Jimi stuff was great too. Anyone ever seen the Sly footage when he co-hosted the Mike Douglas show for the whole week in 1974? Now THAT'S some interesting stuff! | |
