Simply Red can get really funky!

I just got his greatest hits album and I LOVE IT!! couldn´t stand him as a child, but he does some great music!
I love his songs
Something got me started
Money´s too tight to handle
Thrill me - this one´s really funky with bass reminding me of one Prince song.

Could anyone recommend me which of his albums is the best?

the first one (Picture Book) is still their (his) best....

A New Flame is another great album that is has a similiar sound to the first...

Life is a later release that features more urban beats and dance orientated tracks.....some of the simply red purist dont like but this is one of my favorites...

Home (their/his) latest is a nice blend of their original style and the "house" sounds that made up Life...THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL ALBUM. His/their cover of Bob Dylan's Positively 4th St is awesome....

some simply red purist swear up and down that Stars his his/their best album...i personally disagree....I love the title track (think its one of his/their) best songs but i havent been able to really get into it as quickly as i did the above mentioned albums...

i think Simply Red are truly underrated...i know people dismiss them as a covers act because those tend to be his/their biggest hits but he/they are much more then that....

which songs did they cover and who sang them originally? i know only of Sunrise.

I only liked their first album, their sound became more watered down with each release. Too bad Mick choose to go for the money....
RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Simply Red was always kinda hit and miss with me (I think "Life" and "A New Flame" are my favorites) ...but these are the SR tracks I've really loved over the years:

Never Never Love
So Many People
You've Got It
Holding Back The Years
It's Only Love
Fairground
Enough
Sky Is A Gypsy
Say You Love Me
Ain't That A Lot Of Love

I absolutely love SIMPLY RED. Mick is the bomb. An acquaintance of mine did the remix for HOME. It is absolutely beautiful. The best song overall IMO is the house version of LOOK INTO YOUR EYES. FORGET IT!!! That song brings me to tears on the dance floor.

Isn't that right Nick!!

thanks, I thought he did more, like Joe Cocker. So if the rest of the music is theirs than I guess they´re pretty talented.
