Parliament: Funkentelechy V.s. The Placebo Syndrome

I have heard that this album, Funkentelechy VS The Placebo is better than their 1976 hit album, Mothership Connection. I don't have the Funkentelechy album yet, but I plan on getting it. Basically, it looks like it has the same concept the Mothership LP had. I have heard some of the selections of this album from the 2-CD Tear Off The Roof compilation and it sounds pretty good. What do you think of it?

Parliament best album with the phenomenal vocals of Glenn Goins on Bop Gun, killerbass lines from Bootsy and Keyboard and synthizer skils from Bernie Worell at their best.

Parliament at their peak. This LP jams from the beginning until the end. Go pick it up. Didn't realize as a kid that was George as all the characters on the front of the LP. A true classic. Glenn Goins' singing on "Bop Gun" will make you feel like you're in church.

Great album I've been jamming this for the last two weeks. Funkentelechy is my jam, the way the song changes directions mid-stream is amazing. The aforementioned Bop Gun that the other orgers have testified to is an amazing piece of musicianship punctuated by Bootsy's legendary bassline. You cannot go wrong with this album. thumbs up!

...and it came to pass that upon his return, Dr.Funkenstein did find the planet to have completely lost the beat of the funkentelechy, and had fallen prey to the placebo syndrome, spread throughout the galaxy by the infamous Sir Nose D'Voidoffunk. Driven by the genius of desperation, Funkenstein sends Starchild to do battle armed with his greatest invention of all time - THE BOP GUN.

Anyone else still have the comic that came with the LP?

YES!! Pero Bell was the man. Black and I were just talking about how cool that comic was. P-Funk always had goodies in their LP's. I loved the "Motor Booty" cutout figures and the iron on in the "Live 77" LP....now all we need is a P-Funk movie.

Wonder how The Motor Booty Affair film was going to be? At least, we have the album to act sort of like a soundtrack.

My first Parli... album was

Gloryhallastoopid, One Nation..then Motorbooty.

MotorBooty is coo..but I would suggest
Funkentelechy Vs. Placebo

then

Mothership Connection

MotorBooty

then Gloryhalla
Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.
