Does Anyone Have This Parliament/Funkadelic Gem?

I brought this DVD 2 years ago and I have just fell in love with it ever since. Everytime I watch The Mothership Connection Concert on DVD, my jaw just drops in awe because it has awesome stage effects, the music is timeless, the band is just awesome, and George is electrifying. My favorite part of the concert is when the Mothership comes in headbang. That's just were every P-funk concert comes at it's peak. The picture and sound of the DVD is kind of disapppointing, but you have to love it because it's a piece of history. Now, I'm waiting for the P-Funk Earth Live Tour and especially the Motor Booty Affair Tour to arrive on DVD.

Don't forget Mike jammin' on Cosmic Slop. Back in the late 80's this DVD was released but I think it was only 58 mins. Good to see they re-released the whole concert.I just picked up the new release "Live In Montreux-2004". It's cool but it's NOTHING like the "Mothership" show. They were definetly ahead of their time.

How did I forgot Mike mad
I feel you on the new 2004 show. I'm almost scared too watch it, it painfull to see them now. A lot of the ' new' stars do not have it and the vocals from the old cats like George and Garry are not that special anymore. Parliament-Funkadelic from 71-77 was a great band, with great vocals. These days they are most of the time just jammin.

nod The 70's was the primo period for P-Funk. The Mothership ufo was fully operational back then. Ah, the good ol days.

"I think I see the Mothership comin'.... Ooooh yeah!!!!! [insert Bernie solo here]"

There are so many moments where the band is definitely in character on this show.

My favorites are the landing of the Mothership (of course),
the scene where Glenn Goins exhales his joint and a nearby George dramatically inhales every bit of the smoke,
the finale where Sly to too "coked up/scared?" to join his bandmates for the Rubber Band/P-Funk/Family Stone funk fest during Night of the Thumpasaurus People.
The microphone-grinding "dance" Fuzzy Haskins does during Standing on the Verge of Getting it On...

Wonderful show thumbs up! I wish they would release more.
