So, just when you thought you had Rob Thomas pigeon-holed as the scruffy lead singer-songwriter of mid-tempo, modern rock band Matchbox 20. He decides to
throw you off and completely change his image and sound.

These days he's singing more urban-flavored music with 'Neptunes-like' beats
and gospel choirs backing him up.

Hes matched this new sound with a new look: Short hair (Justin Timberlake?),
Diamond earring, black leather jackets??

Whats going on? No, Im not a crazy Rob Thomas fam, but this sudden
transformation is weird to me. Any thoughts?

I haven't heard anything by him yet, thank god. I did see a commercial though advertising his new album. He is Justin Timberlake his Matchbox 20 fans are probably pissed.

I think Rob is a sweetheart. I have nothing against the guy. I think I'd like to see him stay solo. I think he could do much better work on his own.

His music sucks either way.

I was never a fan of Matchbox Blind or 3rd Eye 20 and whichever band he was in, but his new look is VERY cute

Entertainment Weekly actually gave the new CD a pretty good review too.

This album is awesome. On 1st.listen, I was singing along before each song ended. It is one HUGE love letter. Thank you Rob Thomas. Wendy is playing on all but two songs
