Just like music

hi,
i heard a hip hop record today which used a marvin gaye sample. i am a big fan of marvin gaye but i havent ever heard the song that was sampled b4.

The record was by Nas i think. and it the background you can here marvin gaye sing "just like music". can some body tell me the name of the track that is sampled and what album i can find it on?

The song is by Erick Sermon (EPMD) and the song is called "Music". There was a cool video for this song that had clips of Marvin singing and dancing mixed in. It looked like he was singing along. My mother hates hip hop, but she LOVED this song since Marvin was her man (lol).

in like 2000, was it? or 2001, i dont remember, but this joint was THEE joint of the year. It brough back E. Sermon. I loved this joint, and have a great freestyle from Pharoah Monch and Talib Kweli over that beat.
