Eventhough, a lot of hardcore metal artist talk shit about Kip after the Playgirl incident, he still had a hell of a band with accomplished trained musicians. They wrote kick ass songs like this one. Also, my other favorite songs by this group were Miles Away and Seventeen.

Hot Legs is right. My old bass player was a big fan of theirs and his ex-girlfriend was friends with Kip Winger. I was never into their music but they had some great musicians in that group. Reb Beach played guitar with everyone (Marcus Miller, The Bee Gees, Chaka Khan, Twisted Sister). Rod Morgenstien played drums with Steve Morse and The Dixie Dregs (who could play rock to fusion to jazz-country in the same tune). I think he teaches at Berklee Music. And Kip Winger has written and composed for orchestras and played bass with Alice Cooper. You can tell they know music theory and they all have backgrounds in jazz fusion. That kind of set them apart (a little) from the other 80's bands.

Kip was a ballet dancer before he put together Winger. He's another one of those artists that was always prominently featured in Circus and Hit Parader.
