...OK....Sensible answer:

I hate to confess that, although die-hard fans will hate me for this, it is the poppier, more commercial Cure stuff that I prefer.

In particular, I love the Show live album. I see it in the following terms:

The non-fans would like Show, the die-hard types would prefer "Paris".

You agree...?

Out of the 2 choices, I'd have to go with "To Wish Impossible Things". Always one of my more favorites on that album.

To be honest though, give me "Open". wink

i'll be honest - over the past month or two, i've been absolutely obsessed with "a forest" and "out of this world". those have got to be my favorite cure songs right now. nod

Out of those 2, I'd go with 'Impossible Things.'

I do like their poppy material- High is one of my all-time favorite Cure songs. But "Friday" just gets on my nerves a bit...

i kinda like the acoustic version of 'friday i'm in love' on the greatest hits bonus disc, though i know that CD isn't exactly a fan favorite... boxed

I got this CD on my last run through Columbia House. So, it didn't come with the bonus disc. DAMMIT!

I always have a Cure song that I play on repeat on my CD player. The most recent one is "Out Of This World" for me too. Maybe it's just the time of the year... you know the melancholy of SUMMER.

Seriously, does anybody else play "The Last Day Of Summer" on the last day of August each year? Or try to match it with the last sunny day of September, as I do, something like that?

2 of their best for sure! Even Oakenfold couldn't ruin that song with his remix. I love everything about it. sigh

And "A Forest" just might be their most classic song.

the album version of "a forest" really put it at the head of the line for me...i'd never heard that version before i got the reissue. plus, nouvelle vagues has a really delicious bossanova cover version of it on their album, which is not to be missed.

I haven't. But I might start. Just so long as I never have a seasonal reason to play "Snow in Summer", I'll be a'ight.

So you only knew the edit on "Staring at the Sea"?

Fantastic stuff. That guitar spazz-out at the end is to die for. Or is that in the edited version? confuse

yup, the 'staring at the sea' version is the only one i've ever known...i'm trying to think if i ever had another version of it, but it would have to be from a greatest hits comp, and 'staring' is the only one i've ever listened to.
