MOZART - That Bitch Could WRITE!!!!!

I've been listening to alot of his stuff lately and it blows me away.

I'm currently hooked on Piano concerto no 23 in A minor.

That shit is tight!

He seems to be more of a spaz than Beethoven was--his songs are all over the place where Beethoven seemed to make his songs more disceplined sounding.

Ofcourse, I'm not music expert. I just know them bitches could write!

looks like this is gonna be another funny one.

Anyway, I prefer Bach. (But I love them all)

I sang a rendition of "Come Sweet Death" in our highschool chior.

Very beautiful yet haunting.

Nothing cheery about that one. Beautiful though.
Next time you perform it, do it like your Avatar.

Mozart:

Tim Roth will have to play him next. Never realized how much alike they look.

Even though I get bored with Mozart, at times I stop and listen and he blows me away. So listenable and yet so complex. Really quite astonishing. Too bad he was such a miserable fellow. sad

Really? you think so? Mozart really stuck to Classical style, whereas Beethoven had 3 different creative periods and bridged the gap from Classical to Romantic...Romantic is less structered than Classical, its all about the emotions of the composer.....Mozart composed to please the masses...a simple, cosmopolitan sound...have you listened to any Romantic composers? Mahler,Wagner...since you're into piano...have you ever listened to Chopin's piano pieces,or Liszt? Chaikovsky is pretty awesome 2...My favorite period is Impressionism...now Debussy...that b*tch could write! To each their own though....I do thin Mozart is better than his peer Haydn. The only really innovative thing Mozart does for piano "concerti" is Double Exposition form...but that dang tune in No. 23 Finale really sticks in your head doesn't it? Sorry I want to eventually get my Masters in Ethnomusicology...so I'm a music history/opera nerd!

Mozart is a wonderful compuser

If you haev ever been in an orchestra and played his requiem, you know the feeling of powerful music

Too bad it's unfinished.

I've listenned to some "finished by so-and-so modern day composers" versions, but it would be cool if he'd lived to finish it. shrug

Mozart wrote mostly happy sounding music cause that's what the public wanted.

Now Liszt-there was a guy who went against conventional standards.

He's my fav composer. He wrote some of the most beautifully whimsical, and other times most demonic piano compositions I've ever heard.

Beethoven interests me more than Mozart. Darker moments broken by stunningly bright moments, sort of manic depressive mood swing stuff. I like modern Russian composers like Shostakovich and Stravinsky, but Tchiachovsky is a kind of a bore IMHO.

When I worked at the Minnesota Orchestra, Prince and Mayte came to a show of Mozart works. People were wondering what the hell the big entourage was for, and it became quite obvious pretty quickly lol

Some will love some will hate.
Nothing wrong with that.

But outside of the fact that Bach wrote the book on 4 part harmony he composed for every instrument...
Even the cup! (glass). Western music is built on Bach's theories.
(so even if you hate him, you still benefit from his work)
It's his melodies that get me, though.

He didn't do the great symphony work that Beethoven did because he didn't have a symphony to compose for. But imagine if he did.

When it comes to Ave Maria I'm still torn ( Beethoven/Bach) but am leaning more towards Bach these days.

Oh yeah, he was also known to be quite the improvisationalist in church. If only I could get the bootleg of that.

I prefer Bach too. I've said before that I think he'd appeal to jazz/funk fans more than Mozart.

But, hey, Wolfie's okay, too.

No Question! I love Mozart as well. There are times where only he will do. Still, overall...it's Bach. For me.

Rumour is he's gonna Tour UK in the autumn. Maybe even play at Glastonbury.

I got this from a friend of a friend who knows someone who told him.

Seriously tho' . The film Amadeus is in my top 5. The music is magic and the acting is top class. It deserved all the Oscars it won. (was it 5?)

I love his Operas.
All the world's a funky stage.
