I made a thread about this song late last year that received NO response. http://www.prince.org/msg/8/125719

I see they remade the song and put some Expose-looking white & mixed chicks on it.

Basically, this song was performed first by this chick...

Tori Alamaze

-----HERE'S MY ORIGINAL POST FROM LATE LAST YEAR-----

Anybody else like this record or heard of it?

It's currently blazing in the clubs out here.

Once the video hits MTV, I predict we'll be hearing a lot about this song in early 2005. It's like "Milkshake"-meets-"Goodies." Her vocals reminds me a lot of Truth Hurts.

She's based out of Atlanta. I hope she doesn't go down the same one-hit wonder route like INOJ.

I know I'm on your mind
I know we'd have a good time
I'm your friend, I'm fun and I'm fine...
Look at me b!#sh... YOU AIN'T BLIND.

----

So now it's DESTINED to be a one-hit wonder.

Yeah, I heard this past fall when it was sung by Tori Alamaze. I guess some record execs got together and realized that it was going to be a breakout hit, so they put a trendy fly-by-night group on it (in this case) "The Pussycat Dolls" and threw some weak a** rap on it by a well-known MC. Typical.

Busta doesnt sound good on the record...sounds forced. I have downloaded it and it does seem like it was recorded by one girl instead of 5 and the video has new sounds put in it.

I just heard this song last week when the video came on.

Very Vanity6.

Indeed. Total rip-off of the producer-driven girl groups of the '80s.

Tori Alamaze's solo version is better. Check that one out.

Ear drivel, eye candy...I think the lead singer was in that WB series Pop Stars a while back and the 2003 film Chasing Papi. She's the only reason I even watch the vid.confused or should i say razz

The Pussycat Dolls aren't a group; they're a concept. Just like Blue Man Group. Or Menudo.

I heard the original. it sounds more demo like. i thought the re-vamp is a little bit mixed more professionally and the funky sax which was in the chorus is missing in the original.

The first one sounds more raw. The second version is very polished and stripped of soul, IMO.

I agree. They should've just done that for Tori. Like it wouldn't be a hot 'cause she's some black chick. That bull! pissed The shit sounds the same. It sucks because I like the lead girl in the Pussycat Dolls. She has a really nice voice and personality, but she keeps getting mixed up in whack bullshit. pissed

The video's actually pretty pedestrian. Looks like Exposé, Vanity 6 and Dream mixed in a blender with rubbing alcohol -- served with a used syringe needle.

What happened to the burlesque concept of the Pussycat Dolls? That's what I care about. I wanna see some skin!

Check out their website, you can see the video there. http://www.pussycatdolls.com/

It's definitely a part of some corporate entity or brand name. 'Cause they're working in tandem with the new Pussycat Dolls Lounge opening @ Ceasars in Vegas. woot! neutral
