Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood engaged Garth Brooks Pops The Question To Trisha Yearwood
Country singer Trisha Yearwood got the surprise of her life, last night, when boyfriend Garth Brooks got down on bended knee and asked her to marry him in front of over 7,000 witnesses. The two were in Bakersfield, California, attending the "Legends in Bronze" ceremony at Buck Owens' Crystal Palace, where Brooks was being honored by one of 10 larger-than-life bronze statues to be unveiled that evening. After receiving his honor, Brooks dropped to one knee and asked a shocked Yearwood if she would marry him. In front of the more than 7,000 in attendence, she tearfully nodded yes. The two got to know each other in 1991, when up-and-coming Yearwood opened for Brooks, who was just starting to experience world-wide success. At the time, both were married, and it is rumored that the two fell in love then, but hid it from everyone. They continued to work together, though, often touring and recording with one another. After both went through respective divorces within a short time span of each other, they finally made their romance public. Brooks, is currently on a self-imposed hiatus from music, but may duet again with Yearwood, as she puts the finishing touches on her new album, Jasper County. The marriage will be the second for Brooks, 43, who has three children, and the third for Yearwood, 40. No wedding date has been set. | |
