Revisted:- "get outta my dreams get into my car". Sellout white pop at it's best

with lional on hiatus at the time, one last album (Billys "tear down these walls") could be released to good sales that was MOR dance pop by a black artist.

"get outta my dreams" should not of been a hit for it's time frame. But it was. It is sell out white pop but a AWESOME PARTY TUNE.

I cannot beleive robert "mutt" lange wrote this track. cool

No, its just very "white" sounding. I love the song.

Not really important issue. Infact, i think its cool billy didn't try a newjack album at the time. As that song is great fun.

Its hard to think of any black artists now who are white pop. As white pop doesn't exist anymore.

Nah, that wasn't "sellout white pop." Billy was a good crossover act with huge mainstream appeal. I loved the Suddenly LP and I will not shortchange my man like that.

"he should be doing commercials for Crest whitening strips"..

LOL!!!!!

The recent picture I saw of Billy Ocean freaked me out. He looks like a scary George Clinton. But he did rock some cool pop tunes in 1985.

Speaking of the Backstreet Boys, I just heard their lastest single and thier asses are trying to sound like Byran Adams. Now, this is a trip. What do you think about that Sexofit?

Whats ur problem?

1. the point of pop music in general is to "sell out". that's why its called pop(ular) music. the claim that a pop artist sold out is kind of a redundant comment.

2. this whole "white" and "black" pop music thing is a joke. why is there this incessant need to categorize things by color or race? its fucking ridiculous.

3. the song is terrible.

Go to the US Launch Yahoo Website. They should have it there. Lately, I've noticed that alot of things that are release in the UK isn't released here in the states and vica versa. What's up with that? I guess label politics.

I may hear it. If found cheap, I'll pick up backstreet boys greatest hits. Whoever wrote their songs (max martin proberly), some of it is pretty good. Nsync tried to hard. I heard full force worked with BB. Now that is funny.

Over here, thanx to my dads uk singles book uk had:-

no jeremy jordan (why? They musta showed beverly hills 90210 over in uk too?),
no gerardo,
"too legit to quit" by hammer bombed,
no garth brooks at all lol,
janets 1814 singles did not even make top 10 (iam reading from my dads book now),
no marky mark,
michael bolton no way near as big,
New kids on the blocks "face the music" album not even released over here,
same with hammers "funky headhunter"

on the plus.....u got right said freds "i'm too sexy" lol Which was huge over here, but seemed bigger in USA.
