A Perfect Day ~~~~~

Tron and I spent the day Saturday driving to Royal Oak and Roseville. We made a very productive stop to Record Time and got great goodies at cheap prices ~ my list ~~~~~

Nick Drake ~ Bryter Layter Remastered

Japan ~ Assemblage with two bonus videos!!!!!

Lou Reed ~ Berlin ~ finally ~ a REAL cd of this amazing work

P J Harvey ~ Rid Of Me

David Bowie ~ Slow Burn singles and Pin Ups ~ Just in time for my June Bowie listening spree!

and a great DVD of Nina Simone Live At Ronnie Scotts ~ how lucky is that?

TRON got a bunch too but I can't remember all of them. He did find a Bowie single he didn't have which is amazing cuz he has SO MUCH Bowie ~ look out Jon Snow and Anxiety ~ he's taking these Bowie survivor threads seriously lol

We went to Trader Joes and bought wonderful food, and had a fabulous Italian (vegetarian) dinner. The music selection for the drive down ~ Buddha Of Suburbia, which I had not yet heard in it's entirity and completely LOVE!!!!
On the drive home ~ great conversation with my amazing friend. And ~ we even found gas for under $2.00 a gallon. One of those "moments in time" that helps balance out the mundane. Thank you TRON!!!!!

Oh, you're very welcome! I'm glad we could finally do it. Trader Joe's would become my permanent hangout if I lived closer.

Yeah, and I totally splurged too when I really shouldn't have. Some of the stuff I got, that I can remember off the top of my head:

Gang Of Four - Entertainment reissue

Death From Above 1979 - You're a Woman, I'm a Machine (love that cover!)

Radiohead - Kid A (special edition)

Kate Bush - Never For Ever (this cover kinda frightens me! boxed )

Joni Mitchell - Both Sides Now

Miles Davis - Porgy & Bess

David Bowie - Strangers When We Meet (although no edits were procured that I didn't already have)

But most importantly...I was finally united with the love of my life after years and years of empty searching...

Found this one for $4 on vinyl. mr.green

Actually, come to think about it, I didn't do too bad. I got all of that stuff for about $65, and half of it was new.

So Nikki, what have you listened to out of your stash so far?

It is hysterical. There were four of them and he threatened to buy all FOUR! He even took it into the restaurant with us. It was his favourite purchase of the day by far. lol

That's true. I still may go back and buy them all up. I'm tempted to make a big ol' mural of 'em covering my wall. lol
