Hollywood stars like Ben Kinglsey, Sigourney Weaver, Harrison Ford, Johnny Depp and Jessica Lange had no problem flying oversees to work with the guy...after the incident. and who votes for the oscars? HOLLYWOOD!! you dont win an Oscar if your career is dead. he won it three years ago....The Pianist was one of his biggest films of his career. Before and after the incident. Of course, he won an oscar. That's not my point. well what was your point then? help me understand..cause your saying his hollywood career is over..yet he wins the biggest hollywood award, has a big hollywood hit, works with all the big hollywood names still...and is currently in production on a big hollywood old fashion period piece budgeted at over $75 million staring Ben Kingley. so please, show me what leads you to conclude that his hollywood career is over? show me the evidence.... yes, at first his film career was damaged by the alligations but within time he regained his stature.....thus leading me to think that mj's future really isnt finished....it could be..but its not a sealed fate....and Polanski admits to the rape/molestation charges..everyone involved agrees he did it...yet he still won an oscar and works with powerplayers...mj is more then likely innocent...so who knows? cha know? All of you saying MJ need to realise that the guy is still selling thousands of albums around the globe each week. He ain't gone yet. Since when did having your last studio album go to number one in 15+ countries equal a fall off?

Mark Morrison - Anyone remember that song "Return Of The Mack"? That song was HUGE on R&B radio back in 1996/97. I forgot what he ended up going to jail for, but that incident put him away for a long time while the song was still big. After that, you never heard anything else from him. Milli Vanilli - Yes I know they were fakers, but they were huge for a while. You couldn't go anywhere in 1989 without seeing them or hearing them. Mark Morrison was actually in prison twice. Once before his album dropped and then after. I remember reading somewhere he cause a stir on an airplain and got tazered. He had a lot of issues. But yea, I think he is still locked down. No, he's out. And he had a new album in January. And no one noticed. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. I think he falls into the same category as Guns N Roses in that the reason you don't see them on the charts anymore is because they haven't released anything recently. Now if they did release a new album and it sold like only 50,000 copies or something, then that's a real fall off.

jeez, any excuse to bash MJ.
50mill down to 9mill is way better mathematically than 17 mill down to 200,000. i.e Purple Rain to TRC. Good job prince was only accused of stealing a camera off a fan in an airport, if he was accused of child molestation, he'd be completely fucked! [Edited 5/25/05 13:47pm]

The last time Polanski was nominated for an academy award was in 1974 for Chinatown (he won). That's a 30-year gap from the Pianist. I guess Polanski did some theater work in Europe and made a few mediocre films in the 80's and 90's. He still hasn't picked up his Oscar statue for the Pianist. Basically he gives me the creeps, and I'm not a huge fan of his films. So I really lack passion for this discussion.

The only Polanski film I've seen in the last ten years was 'Bitter Moon' because Kristen Scott Thomas was in it. spelling edit [Edited 5/26/05 7:54am]
