Ryan Adams - Cold Roses New double album with new backing-band The Cardinals. Apperently a return to the style of his solo-debut 'Heartbreaker' and his alt-country roots. Haven't heard hit yet, it is on top of my wish-list.....He is ignoring Amsterdam on this summer's tour.....what the fuck's up with that? Are the drugs no good no more?

Cold Roses is a great record, but would probably have benefited from just being a single disc. Ryan Adams is without doubt my favourite artist of the last few years, he's extremely prolific and pretty consistent with it too, he's releasing 3 albums this year, and im sure im going to love all of them. For those who haven't heard him, and quite like their alt-country / rock music, check him out beacause he wont disappoint.
Cold roses could definitely done with trimming a few weaker songs though. My favourites are Cherry Lane, Magnolia Mountain, Sweet Illusions, Let It Ride, How Do You Keep love Alive & Dance All Night. The album is a return to country roots, but more his Whiskeytown stuff than Heartbreaker. If you're into his country stuff, try and download his unreleased album 48 Hours from somewhere, its fucking brilliant. Im off to see him live in June, ive seen him 3 times before all with varying results so im quite excited about which Ryan will turn up that night.
