Paisley Park vs Madonna's Dear Jessie

Just listening 2 Madonna's Like a Prayer CD - one of my faves that I had long forgotten about - and loving Dear Jessie. It's kind of like her attempt at a Paisley Park, with the childlike innocence, sing-song melody and utopian theme.

Hmmm... Definitely some similarities with the trippy, psychadelic vibe. Hadn't thought of it before. Love them buth, but in a fight, I'd take Paisley Park, hands down.

lol

Anyway, "Dear Jessie" for me. The lyrics for "Paisley Park" are superior but "Jessie" is all-around more convincing.

Dear Jessie is a song that Patrick Leonnard came up with, and it insipred Mads to write a lullaby to his daughter Jessica who spent alot of time with Madonna during the early years of her life.

The idea of the whole like a prayer album was to go to a more organic sound of the 60/70's, hince the use of live Studio Musicans. I don't think Pat or Madonna had any concisious thought in their mind about Paisley Park.
You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna
