Does Anybody Have This DVD?

I brought this one yesterday and it is better than any VH1 Behind The Music story. Maurice & Co. talks about their ups and downs, their band line-ups, the band members, those energetic and exciting concerts they did back in the 70's, most importantly, those songs. I can't believe Philip Bailey thinks that the song, "Reasons" is not a love song, but really a song about betrayal and breaking up with your lover. I really enjoyed those concert clips! I loved the one when the band members get into a pyramid and the pyramid explodes with the men vanished and then they are magically back on the stage with these strange space costumes. I also loved the one with Verdine flying in the air with a harness on, while playing those funky bass notes. Cool! The discography that is featured on the DVD has Maurice talking about each of their albums. So, has anybody checked this out yet? If you haven't, you need to check it out!!! headbang

Yes,I have that DVD and it is incredible. It's sorta like their own "Behind The Music",but it is told in their own way,by Maurice White and the original bandmembers. There is alot of rare, early footage and revealing interviews with Maurice,Philip Bailey,Verdine White,Larry Dunn, plus folks like (journalist) Nelson George. There is rare footage of a young Maurice White playing drums in the Ramsey Lewis Trio,in the 60s.There is rare footage of Earth Wind and Fire performing at a 1974 concert extravaganza (I think it's called "The California Jam").There is rare footage of Earth Wind and Fire performing at Madison Square Garden in 1976.You also get to see clips from many of their videos, and there is also footage of a 1999 recording session with Wyclef Jean and Eric Benet (these recordings were shelved, btw). There is footage of EW&F being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999.But most imporatantly, you get to hear the complete story from the guys themselves, without all the tabloid-style sensationalism of those "Behind The Music" TV specials. If you're a fan of EW&F,this DVD is essential.

Oh, no, I don't think you're ever going to get that or see that. Critics bombed it so much that I don't even think it will ever debut on television or DVD. At least we have the album... I think I saw some pictures of the movie though!!!
