The Killers Add More Tour Dates

The Killers Add More Tour Dates
Killers add US shows in August; reschedule four May dates.

By Krista Desens

[The Killers]
LAS VEGAS, NV Monday May.23.2005 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- The Killers are currently touring North America on a headlining theatre tour, and the "Mr. Brightside" band has added several summer shows to the outing.

New shows announced on the Killers' official Web site include an August 12 show at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, Colorado, an August 13 show at Cotillion in Wichita, Kansas and an August 14 show at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The band has also added August stops in Oklahoma City, Grand Prairie, Austin and Houston.

At press time, on-sale ticket dates to the general public had not been announced. However, a pre-sale for tickets to the newly added concerts begins May 27 for registered users at the Killers' Web site.

For personal reasons, the Killers have also rescheduled four shows that were set to take place last week and this week. A Minnesota show, originally set for May 21 at the Quest in Minneapolis, will now take place August 9 at the much-larger Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul. Tickets for The Quest show will be honored as general admission floor tickets for the new date and venue.

The Killers' May 22 show in Omaha, Nebraska has also been changed to August 10, while the May 23 show at the Pageant in St. Louis, Missouri has been changed to July 21. The Louisville, Kentucky show originally set for May 24 will now take place July 20.

The Killers are on the road to support their debut album, "Hot Fuss." Canadian band Hot Hot Heat will open for the Killers on May 27 and May 28, while San Diego-based band Louis XIV opens the remaining May and June dates.
