After getting impatient with Librarian (yeah, yeah, know this one from memory/ what is Zebra doing on here?/skip remixed widow (like EW)), I moved on to BeeKeeper.

I know why I don't like it. Isten said the lyrics are great, but the production is not to his liking.
To me, Sweet The Sting kinda shelves it. It sounds WONDERFUL! You hum it along in a minute.
Smooth. Not a bad thing. But to my ears it is a bit like, "what are we going to do with this song? Ooh, let's make it Caribean sounding!" It sounds fabricated.

I know Tori admitted in a Dutch interview her approach to music has changed. She admitted that most of the lyrics are not really personal anymore. Does this filter through to the music and production?

I know I have felt myself becoming distant from her music since To Venus... to which I have warmed somewhat later on, as I did with Strange Little Girls.

sigh

I looooove the lyrics to Parasol. I have experienced emotions like that, I am a HUGE fan of escapeism....
I think she is releasing songs too fast. She does not give these songs enough space to grow in her head... some songs just have the same Tori tingeling-piano sounds and it makes the album in it's entirety a bit bland.

Coincidentally, I have a TTD disc on the way as well. Where is the Des'ree/D'Arby duet?
