Vanity/Britney Spears Connection

I swear I was listening to "Mechanical Emotion" by Vanity the other day and I swore that when the guy singer is singing "Baby".....it sounds just like the song "I'm a Slave For You" by Britney Spears when she sings "Baby....don't you wanna dance up on me..." Perhaps I'm a bit late to notice or there has already been a thread about this but does anyone else agree?

I agree. BUT I believe you can see more similarities with Slave 4 U and Nasty Girl, as far as the music is concerned. BRITNEY has been a huge fan. I remember seeing her work out to Prince's second album.

You mean the Neptunes... Britney had little to no input on most of her first 3 albums.

But does Britney know about Vanity? Something tells me she has a lot of Prince CDs but is naive to his history. Hell, one time she was questioned about being the Yoko Ono or Linda McCartney of Nsync (Justin mentioned being a huge Beatles fan) and apparently she had no idea who either of them where...

I like Britney but how in the fuck are you going to be a pop star that is that naive about pop culture. Shame!

Britney co-wrote the same amount of songs on her third album ("Britney") as she did on the forth ("In the Zone"). I think the amount is five for both. I could be wrong. That being said, she isn't listed as a writer for "Slave", which apparently was first offered to Janet (BTW, I've always felt that tracks from "Britney" sound a little like some from "All for You", which was released earlier in 2001).
