Roger - Unlimited

I just bought this CD tonight and it's really good. I'm so impressed. Some of the songs sound like Prince. It's a good mixture of R&B, funk and rock. Anyone else have this cd?

Yeah, I have it. If u want to hear some Prince inspired Roger/Zapp, listen to "Itchin' For Your Twitch". It's like a rocked out version of "Sexy Dancer". That's two fold though, really. Along with The Time, Zapp opened for P on his Controversy tour in 81-82. I always felt that "More Bounce To The Ounce" (which came out in 80) inspired the guitar on the song "Controversy". I know P was cutting up on "Sexy Dancer" (79), but not as in the pocket as his playing on "Controversy". Roger's guitar playing is so in the pocket on "More Bounce" it's stoopid! I hear some of that vibe on "Controversy". Always have.

I'd love to hear more of his stuff including the stuff you mentioned. I never knew he could rock out like that. It's such a shame he is no longer around. What a great talent.

So what album is the "itching" song on?

Good ear. I even heard the talk box in one section of "Controversy".
