Funkentelechy Appreciation Thread Funkentelechy is one of the funkiest songs I have ever heard with a mindblowing arrangement. Everything is on point; the chants, horns, rhythm guitar, basslines, drumming and vocals are beyond compare. This track, along with Bop Gun and Flashlight are my favorites from Paliament's classic Funkentelechy vs. The Placebo Syndrome album. Everytime I listen to this song I'm blown away by their ability to change directions mid-song and then take the rhythm to another level with a complexity that any band would be hardpressed to compete with. The shift in this song at the 5:45 mark is too good for words. [Edited 5/18/05 15:54pm]

Come on player! This is one of the most underrated P-Funk cuts there is. Bootsy's bassline on this is EXTRA STOOPID! I jam this to death. Love this cut! SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

i play this song every sunday morning. Again, Bootsy's bassline on "Sir Nose" is waaaay out stoopid! But, if u can dig, Sir Nose and "Funkentelechy", the baslines are very similar in "concept". "Sir Nose" is some o.g. gangsta shit, just like "Flashlight" is. That whole album is coldblooded. And I mean that, seriously. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

This is one of the best songs I've heard by ANYONE. The bassline and the Horny Horns are killing this track. This song should be required listening for anyone that loves music.

Graet song. R & B radio in 1977-8 used to play this song to death. I also liked how George kinda fucked with the media on this song by saying commercial phrases. One of my favorites is "Mind your wants cuz there's someone that wants your mind". Great LP and I loved the comic book that came with it...Man that was a great time to be alive!
