Yeah, Ruff Ryderz iz played out. I don't think Eve even quotes them anymore.

I saw Jin at a panel on Asians in hip hop. He came off as a very passionate emcee.

No. She has definitely distanced herself from that camp. She's bigger than them now.

She's technically still signed to them though, right?... is what I'm getting at, paperwork-wise.

Am I the only one who remembers Jin from when he used to kill all challengers on "Freestyle Friday" on 106 and Park?

However, the only actual track off his cd I heard was that "Learn Chinese" song. I found it kind of stupid and was not impressed. neutral

It was wack.. its very hard for a asian dude to be taken serious in the HIP HOP game... Im sure JIN has skillz.. there is numerous asians whom have not only HIPHOP skillz but RnB too.. but there have been no major artists to "make it"....

Race plays a major factor.. and african american listeners.. would have to really be impressed to embrace an asian whom sings and raps there music.

Fear no. I just happened to listen to a Chinese webradio station that played Chinese rap. And let me just tell you, I've heard all the most extreme powernoise / deathindustrial / grindcore -albums in the world, but that stuff was just vile! It was truly hardcore, just in the most unexpected way. I don't think even the performers themselves are aware of their brand of hard-coreness. I mean I've heard all kinds of ethnic rap music: Armenian rap, Somalian rap - even Bosnian rap. But Chinese rap is completely out of this world. It's truly a "eek" -type of experience.
