MC Trouble

Anyone remember her? She wa a motown female rapper. She had one album "ogtta get a grip". some funky tracks. Sorta like Queen latifah.

I still got the video to "(i wanna) mkae you mine". Where she is dancing on the sidewalk (how cliche back then biggrin )

I love "(i wanna) make you mine". that is a stone cold jam. I also like her boy sngs like "fly guy". Also "the push up" and "thing for you" are good too.

I just listened to her one and only album again after I re-heard the boys "cryin'", which was dedicated to the late mc trouble.

I liked MC Trouble she was Motowns first female rapper ever signed...her first single "I wanna make you mine" featured The Good Girls. She was also the first solo female out of Cali to gain noteriety...her last cut on the House Party 2 soundtrack "Big Ol Jazz" was Hot!!! I often wonder what would have became of the late female MC...her Sister/back up dancer Nikky Kixx released a single back in 94 "I love what you do to me" however her full album also never came to be.

Maybe the boys were working on some stuff with her or toured it her or something. As they talk about her on "cryin'" which is touching. I like her. Her views on men are refreshing for a rapper these days. Full force are on backup on "thing for you".

How did she die?

The Boys did tour with her in early 90....she died in June 91 of an epileptic siezure that triggered heart failure.

Really? Thanx for the info. I did wonder if there were anymore mc trouble albums out as fior a debut, it is quite good in places. She could do pop, talk about boys and be social. Her flow was nice too. I think she woulda developed well. Like chris bender though, we'll never know

(WTF did the boys go? "the saga continues" was mature, funky and by far their best album as a whole. Even if newjack was dying, that album was kicking back in the day. They were funny too.)

MC Trouble does have two songs featured on a compilation "Greg Mack what does it all mean?" that came out in 1989 before her debut..."Highroller's girl" and "Can't get enough". LA female rapper Nefertiti did a nice tribute to her on her album L.I.F.E(Living In Fear of Extinction) called "Trouble in paradise" and it features King Tee,Nikky Kixx, and Big Bub of Today

Yeah, she was cool. We went to high school together. When she died we all tripped out.
Desire, it covers our faces
It happens in curious places
Your body, it covers my tower
Ecstasy is ours

I have been trying to download MC Trouble for awhile now. It was like as soon as she was about to blow up she died.

The Boys moved to Africa. They had a website but of course I don't remember where the link came from. If I find it I will post. They are on a whole different level now. It's like they got tired of celebrity and chose a more spiritual path for their life.

I thought of her recently when I bought a copy of "Sister's in the name of rap" a pay preview concert from 1991 that featured Salt N'Pepa,Queen Latifah,MC Lyte, & Yo-Yo amongst a whole host of other female rappers at the time...Nefertiti goes into a speech and a video memorial of Trouble after her performance then introduces Troubles little sister Nikky Kixx who performs a tribute to her...I believe MC Lyte wrote a eulogy for her funeral.
