Songs about Hendrix? Pt. 2

Here is my other one that I KNOW is about Hendrix:

Prince/America

Jimmy Nothing never went to school - (Jimi dropped out of high school)

They made him pledge allegiance, he said it wasn't cool - (While Jimi was in grade school, SUPPOSEDLY he didn't want to stand for the pledge of allegiance)

Nothing made Jimmy proud - (Jimi was often quite dissatisfied with his playing and music)

Now Jimmy lives on a mushroom cloud - (Again, this alludes to Jimi's death from an overdose)
SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
nammie "What BGZ says I believe. I have the biggest crush on him."

"Keeper Of The Flame" - Jimi Hazel - Sings about the impact Hendrix had on him as a kid.

"Jimi" - Marshall Tucker Band - An instrumental that has some upfront guitar (and no I'm not into the M.T.B)

"Sunshine Of Your Love" - Eric supposedly wrote the riff w/ Jimi in mind and dedicated the song to him.

"MaggotBrain" - Heard Spacey T say this was Eddie's "quiet" tribute to Jimi.

..if I can think of more, I'll post them.

Maybe Shooting Star by Bad Company

Johnny died one night
Died in his bed
Bottle of whiskey, sleeping tablets
By his head

Johnny's life passed him
by like a warm summer day
If you listen to the wind
You can still hear him play

(Chorus)
Don't you know
That you are a shooting star,..(don't you know, don't you know)
Don't you know that you are
A Shooting Star
And all the world will love you
Just as long..as long as you are?

"Song for A Dreamer" was written about Hendrix by Robin Trower when he was a member of Procol Harum.

I know everyone assumes that Betty Davis's song "He Was A Big Freak" was about Miles Davis, but Miles said it was about Hendrix!!-- now Betty recently claims it wasn't about either one of 'em, but I don't think anyone believes her, lol !!

Good pick. Yeah, I'm hip to that. I read that before. Well, all you have to do is listen to Robin's solo albums to tell u he loves Hendrix.

Yeah, I think that's about him. It's from Reachin'. The premise of the 70's tribute song is that if the DPs went back to the 70's, Jimi would dig them. At the end, it's got a Jimi impersonator talking about how he digs their sound.

A little pretentious of them I know but I like the song.

Well all I know is that when my brother saw her in concert with Graham Central Station back in the day at Howard in the 70's, she went talking about Miles like nobody's business and started testifying and Larry had to throw her a towel on stage lol . So rather or not, she wants to admit it, the songs more so about her ex than Jimi.

OK Cool smile. Not to change the thread but I picked up Chappelle Season 2 and watched the Rick James uncut interview..HILARIOUS (especially what he said about Charlie and Prince-lol)...figured I'd pick it up since Rick's site is raving about it...uh,ok..back to Jimi. Rick liked Hendrix. Said he was "no voodoo child, just a brother who played good guitar".
