Also, in Mojo magazine, Sly was the cover stover regarding the drama and hell in Sly's world following the huge success of the "Stand" album. This issue was from 01 or 02. It talked about Sly wanting to "get" Larry mainly for Larry sleeping with Freddie Stone's wife and fucking over Sly's sister, who was in love with Larry. Larry was looking under his car and shit, thinking Sly's buddies had planted a bomb there. It was a lot of wild shit. I had no idea there was all of the shit goin on. In Sly's mind, it truly was a riot!

-----
I read that Larry was going out with Freddie Stone's wife and ran up $10,000.00 worth of long distance telephone charges that were billed to Freddie.

Larry sounds like he was a bit of a bad ass back in the day.

Which one of sly's sisters was in love with larry? Rosie? Vet? who?

howwwww did i know that this was gonna end up as yet another "let's bash larry cuz he [supposedly] brainwashed prince" thread, as opposed to sticking with the subject at hand?

When I first came here, during the cooling off/no posting period, one of the things I initially noticed was this high level of Larry-hate. Couldn't figure out WTF was going on.

Using the search engine (remember that?), came to find out that quite a few folks had deduced that Larry had done some kind of Jedi/Jehovah mind trick on Prince. Ridiculous disbelief Never knew that Prince had so many closet business / personal / spiritual advisors on this board. smile

Why is it so difficult for folks to accept that...

...Prince is a grown man, able to make his own decisions based on what he feels is best for him and not you.
...He enjoyed playing with Larry and that's why he hired him.

Case closed. Deal with it or find some other pop star's jock to ride.

Im not in prince's life.. but it did seem whenever larry was around, Prince was vunerable about a lot of things.. I understand he was a grown man when he came along, but his ideas changed so abruptly.. yes, he obviously was ready for a change and accepted a lot of things larry obviously presented the man..

for better or worse (that part doesnt matter).. it made me think very differently of Prince.

See, that's a very measured and reasoned observation.
Very different from some of the lunacy i've read in the past.

Hell yeah. But u think that's gonna happen when we (or I anyways) have been waiting on a motion picture about the greatest guitarist that ever lived to end up with some bullshit on Showtime? Nah, they'll just keep doing Elvis movies.

Not that there is anything wrong with Elvis, so nobody flip out on me! Just telling the truth.

Check out "For The Record Book" and Goggle Larry and Sly. I found some pretty good articles and message board gossip about old Larry. Kind of made me see why P kicks it with him.

That guy's a hustler and a shyster. All you gotta do is watch his TV interviews and see him on stage a few times to see that.

Fuck that guy and his big white hat.

johnwoo Larry Graham

Sure he's a hustler. So is Prince. Selling 2001-Prince-calendars on his website and charging people for downloading TV-specials is nothing but a hustle. But FYI: Larry has been doing quite well before he hooked up with Prince. In 1994 he reunited his group Graham Central Station and played sold out performances all over the world. Over the long run, I actually believe that his association with Prince hurt him more than it benefited him.

I never even heard of the fuck until Prince pimped his out all over the tours.

You saw him on stage a few times and used your physic powers to determine that he is a hustler and a shyster. Get a grip.

If you do a little research you will find out that Larry was a little off the chain back in the day. He grew up and reformed and maybe that is why Prince hooked up with him. Maybe he sees that he can grow up and change to.

I don't think it is anymore deep than that.
