Greatness Alert!!! Strange that this occurred right after we had a series of posts on bass players. Get ready to add another to your lists.
I had the unexpected surprise and honor to do a last minute jazz/funk gig with the father and son team of Ronnie (sax) and Joshua (bass) Crumbly Saturday night. Amazing musicians. Ronnie has a very David Sanborn like vibe. Watch out for these two. The thing that floored me was the maturity and skill of Joshua... ...who is only 13 YEARS YOUNG!!! He's been privately instructed by the great Victor Bailey (Weather Report, Madonna, Zawinul Syndicate). We had a blast at Winter NAMM in Anaheim, CA.. seeing old friends and making new ones. We also enjoyed an appearance in the booth by a wonderful cat and great bass player, Joshua Crumbly. http://www.mtdbass.com/pages/news.html =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Like Father, Like Son (available on CD Baby) Ronnie Crumbly is also the proud father of 13 year old child prodigy electric bassist Joshua Crumbly. At 13, Joshua has already performed with Jazz bassist Victor Bailey, Phil Upchurch, Wayne Lindsey, James Ingram and many other local LA artist. Joshua is also already endorsed by Fender Amplification, Dean Markley Strings, and being sought after by other music manufacturing companies. http://cdbaby.com/cd/crumbly =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Based on my experience with Joshua and the things he told me his musical friends are into, the future of music is in good hands. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. It was up in the high desert. I got the call at around 10am for a 7pm downbeat. A drummer friend of mine called me after his guitar player bailed on him at the last minute. (Typical L.A. musician stuff.) This kid is killer. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn.
