BTW, does anyone here remember a show called "Dear John?" I know I saw it years ago in syndication, and while I can't tell you what it was about, I still remeber the theme song.
"Dear, John...Dear, John...By the time you read these lines, I'll be gone..."

I remember that show, it starred Judd Hirsch as a man whose wife left him.. a "dear John" letter..
his character goes to a sort of "self-help group" with other "rejects" & they sit around for that half hour talking about past & present (failed) relationships..

there was the "group leader", a woman with brownish-red hair & a British accent..

there was "Kirk", a wanna-be player who dressed rather snazzily & hit on almost any female within the range of his voice.. he really thought he was "all that"..

then there was the "randy" senior citizen lady.. whatever anybody said, she would make a sexual remark based on that then look shocked or whatever..
somebody would say something like "well, I'm having a tossed salad for dinner tonight" & then she would say "on, I had my salad tossed last night!"

then.. there was that 1 older guy, rather tall.. I don't think his character ever actually spoke on the show.. all his "dialogue" was basically "shoulder shrugs" & long sighs..

"Dear John" was funny enough times, predictable enough but watchable.

I remember it was a woman singing the song, followed by a short sax "solo" at the end..
I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

nod Oh Yeah, I remember that show Eroticist. It used to come on CBS and was cool as fuck b/c Pryor would dress up as different charactors. One time, he even brought to life one my favorite all time Pryor charactors on the Saturday show Mudbone (cleaner version). Damn, they don't make shows like that anymore.

Everybody forgot about "ALICE" spank

Early to rise
early to bed.
In between I cooked and cleaned
and went outta my head.
Going through life
with blinders on
it's tough to see.
I gotta get up
get out from under
and look for me!

There's a new girl in town

There's a fresh, feckled face
in the neighborhood.
There's a new girl in town
with a brand new smile.
And if things work out

Hmmm... was the restaurant in a hotel? I just remember during the theme song these 3 or 4 women would be walking down the hallway of a high rise building. It looked like a hotel to me.

This show is a VERY faint memory for me. It used to come on in syndication (believe it or not) back in 1988-1990 on either NBC, KCAL or KCOP (now UPN) around 5:30pm. Right after Mama's Family reruns.
