She was pretty in the early 90's. The hair was a lot better. Beautiful and curly and BROWN. This 10-shades-too-pale stringy shit she has now just makes her look bloated and anemic.

In my current issuse of Essence magazine she is on the cover and the heading reads "Maria Carey the most misundestood black woman", in it she stated that she was forced to play up the white side of her heritage she also said that she had no contact with the white side of her family she said that they disowned her mother for getting with a black man. but i also agree that she did what is commonly referred to as "passing" she and another person that comes to mind is Jennifer Beals she will not identify herself as black, and she always plays racially ambigious characters or characters that are assumed to be white, she has never played the role of a "black woman" and I think that this is totally by choice I have seen several interviews with Beals and you can tell that she considers herself white.

One thing that I find confusing about Mariah is the on one hand is she is looking "whiter" with the blonde straight hair, etc but on another hand, she is "acting more black" using street slang and doing collboartions with rap artists. As long as she stays brunette, even, she looks a hell of a lot better. Gives her class, I guess. She looked good up until 1997.
