Ex-Moderator | I'm going to see Bright Eyes and The Faint tonight!! At First Avenue. I'm quite excited. I haven't been to a show in AGES. I've only listened to the Bright Eyes CDs a few times through and I'm enjoying them in a pleasant but not earth shattering kinda way. I've heard a few of The Faint's songs, I think, but I'm not all that familiar. I hear I'll love them.

Is this the tour for "Wide Awake" or "Digital Ash"? I know he's doing separate tours for each.

just us lot, of course we got all drunky and walked all over MPLS from bar to bar after the show. We ended up at this pretentious queer bar where a friend was spinning and wandered the bar making people get up and dance. Our friend played us some Princey tracks and once we had people on the dance floor we left- our job was done it was a FUN nite, but I am paying for it today

And how was the show itself? What instrument(s) did he play? Was it a good time?

The show was a good, fun time overall. The folks I was with actually enjoyed The Faint more than Bright Eyes, but not me. Though I enjoyed The Faint too. I dunno, it was just good, pop-py background music in a way. The only trouble I had was it being a sold out show and that I'm not the type to stand around and not leave the floor the whole night we didn't get a very good spot to actually watch the show. We were kinda behind the railings of one of the staircases and since the view was somewhat obstructed I couldn't get super into the show. I danced around to the songs I knew I liked a lot from our spot, but it's a much different feel than when you're on the floor surrounded by it all and completely engaged. So overall the night was a good time, but it was far from one of the best shows I've ever seen or anything. Conor played guitar mostly and some synthesizer stuff it seemed. Like I said, I just wasn't all that engaged. |

Yeah, I was afraid of that happening with New Order. Like Anx said, it was the most sold out thing ever it seemed. We got there for the beginning of the opening act and the entire floor was crammed. Ian and I had been waiting for months since we got the tickets, hell years since we got into them, to finally see them live. We came to get our dance on and we were determined not to miss our chance. So we waited until after the opening act came off and the obligatory bathroom/bar run that half the people make. We weaseled our way up to about what would be maybe the 8th row, if there were actually rows and had the time of our lives. I know what you mean about general admission shows. If for some reason you're not content with where you're at, something can be lacking even if the show is stellar. But if I go with it in mind that I just want a chill night in the balcony or in a corner somewhere, I can have a great time that way too.
