Tracy Spencer "tender Kisses"

Pretty song just like the girl. I loved her, Whatever happened to her. She had a promising future. I guess she made enough money and quit. Symtons of true love and this house are classics too by her.

Symptoms of true love was the bomb and This House was cool too. I know she made an album about 5 years ago but it went no where. Maybe she threw in the towel. sad With Beyonce on the scene it might be a bit hard for her to getback in there again. Did you ever hear her version of "Imagine"? It was pretty good.

Tender Kisses was my favorite song by her. I heard she had a problem with alcohol but that was years ago. It truly seems as if she disappeared off the face of the earth. Not even a 'where are they now?' sighting.

Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

The entire "Make The Difference" album was lovely. Tender Kisses, This House, Love Me, I Have A Song To Sing, Tracie's Hideout, This Time Make It Funky... ahhh, I heart that record.

I was even digging the stuff she did in the late '90s, "It's All About You (Not About Me)." Afterwards, she dropped off the face of the earth.

Tender Kisses was one of the biggest (if not, the biggest) single that came out that year on R&B radio.

She never really established that niche like Brandy and Monica did throughout the '90s in the teen R&B scene. I guess Tracie was too busy leading a normal life.

She reappeared in 1999 with the one-named album "Tracie." The lead single, "It's All About You (Not About Me)" got decent rotation on BET that year, but minor radio play.

Yeah I think I got a freebie of the single of It's All About You but I wasn't crazy about it. She truly seems to have disappeared.

"it's all about you, not about me" was a pretty good single. it seemed to be a lot more r&b sounding than what i'm use to hearing from her. maybe she was trying to go the destiny's child route but i guess it never took off. is she still alive? damn, where the hell is she? do you know anything about her personal life? where is she from?

Good question. Tender Kisses was everywhere it seemed. I remember the "Not About You" song and I thought it was cool. Too bad she's not doing anything presently.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Song is average.

I got her first 2 albums. Her self titled debut is very debbie gibson pop, but on "make the difference", she went rnb ala janet. The back cover of "make the difference"? neutral If u look clsely on the front cover, u see her left foot has a huge lump?

Fav song on "make the difference" is "double o rhythm". That is is "1814" funky baby.

"Too much of nothing" swings whilst the title track is solid too.

Her best track was off the super mario soundtrack. "dont slip away" is an awesome power ballad done by none other then super producer Narada Michael Walden. It is an awesome hidden gem.

Personally, when Trace came back out I kept confusing her and her video with Tamia. If you watch Tamia's "I'm So Into You" back-to-back with Tracie's "IAAY(NAM)" their videos look the same, both sound similiar vocally and they look the same -- even down to the freckles. eek

She's from Iowa. I listened to an audio feature RADIOSCOPE did on her around the time of the promo for the Tracie LP. She said that she really just wanted to take time away from the spotlight after her hit record Make The Difference, she wasn't concerned with keeping up with her contemporaries. So she went back to Iowa. She basically wanted to go to high school and college, date regular boys and live a normal life. She is one of the few child stars that seems to have a cool head on her shoulders. No "Behind The Music" fodder here.

Tracey Spencer was a teen idol from star search. That show had the best talent and puts american idol in the dust. TVOne aired Tracey on Showtime at the apollo. She tore up imagine by John Lennon and the apollo went crazy.

At the time she was rivals with Shanice Wilson another power house vocalist.

Fun Fact: Stacey Lattisaw revealed that when she recorded her last album Jheryl Busby from MCA was in charge of promoting the project. He dissed her and gave all his attention to Shanice's album. Shanice scored the hit "I love your smile".
