To all my folkers with Music Choice...

Don't you just LOVE "Retro-Active," the Music Choice Channel on 814?

That channel is just playing jam after jam after jam*!

the clash - this is radio clash (1981)
fiction factor - (feels like) heaven (1984)
echo and the bunymen - bring on the dancing horses (1985)
devo - girl u want
duran duran - skin trade
P.I.L. - This Is Not A Love Song (1983)
the english beat - save it for later (1983)
the ramones - sheena's a punk rocker (1976)
blondie - heart of glass
level 42 - something about you (1985)
living in a box - living in a box (1987)

NWF, you would love this station -- H*LL YES*!

Take Two, edit.

I've been a fan of the Music Choice channels since I expanded my cable package a few years ago. I have the 'Retro Active', 'Dance' and 'Rock En Español' channels stored in my remote.

'Retro Active' used to be called 'New Wave' but was changed to it's current name because the playlist consisted not only of new wave, but any kind of late 70s to early 90s alternative.

The 'Latin Pop' channel used to run 'Bolero' weekends at one point last year which I really loved. I'm still looking for a good bolero comp as a result.

I highly recommend tuning in to these if your cable provider has them. It's kind of like satellite radio being fed through your TV.

I really applaud the programmers at Music Choice. The selections are great —- ecclectic, not oversaturated Top-40 and nice flourishes of album gems. I loved how they played "Bankrobber" by The Clash and went into "Roam" by the B-52's.

I've found my favorite station*! If XM satellite radio has something like this, I'll listen to the car radio again. biggrin

It's like 'movies on demand' except with music videos. You just scroll through the list of videos, select the one you want to see and press play on your remote. Most importantly, every video is free. The one drawback is the selection is very limited. In NYC it's channel 1002 on Time Warner.

I listen to Music Choice stations rather than the radio these days. Greater variety, no commercials, no annoyng DJs, and just turn on the TV if you hear a song that you like so you can see the Title, Artist, and CD.
Usually, I'll have on the 70s or 80s channel, The Classic Rock is pretty good, and the Blues channel is excellent . There's a R&B Classics station that's OK, but they stick a lot with more familiar tunes
