all i have of him is the DVD of 'sextette' where he performs a really bizarre seranade to mae west, but i like old alice cooper stuff just fine.

my mom was really into alice as a kid. i remember alice cooper 8-tracks in the car, albums in the house, and i remember my mom going to see him in concert a couple of times when i was a young'un.

I remember my Mom said she meet him! I tease her about it every so often.

I really like his stuff. "Trash" is a very good album. Good guilty eighties rock (mostly for "Poison" but all the tracks work and lots of big guests).

How many sheets of gauze do you think they covered the lens with to shoot Mae? The drinking games centered around that film are endless.

my friend compared her screen presence to that of an oversized yoda lawn ornament on casters that gets pulled off camera by a rope at the end of scenes. lol

Ok, in the 70's, Alice was cool b/c he was unpredictable.Don't get me wrong, he has written some cool songs. Of course now, I know all of his tricks and he is so passee.

He is also known for putting out interesting LPs. One of his records included a pair of women's panties inside. Another one I just came across is packaged in a cardboard box and the inside jacket has a picture of him and some midgets dressed in sailor suits about to go into a topless bar. The other side has the aftermath with he and his midget buddies all bruised and bloodied.

Oddly enough,I prefer his ballads and slower tracks ("You and Me"..."How You Gonna See Me Now").I think he was known more for his loud, uptempo rock numbers. He did some good work in the 70s.

nod Some songs preformed by Alice that stuck with me growing up in the 70's were School's Out and Welcome To My Nightmare. Also, I used to love it when he would appear on The Muppets razz . headbang guitar

Slash

I heard Only Women Bleed for the first time on the radio a couple of weeks ago, and I was surprised to find that it was Alice Cooper - why isn't this a better known track?!

For some reason, despite the obvious influence he has had (Marilyn Manson anyone..? Slipknot anyone..?), Alice Cooper is lucky to get more than a footnote in most Rock histories.

I saw a clip of him doing School's Out on a recent DVD and it was pretty bad, but, for those of us who weren't aware of him back in the day, it is easy to forget how cutting edge that stuff once was.

And hey, Slash played on some of his stuff so it ain't all bad.

Oh, and Manic Street Preachers did a great version of Under My Wheels too.

It's probably for the best that you went on a different night to Mr Page...He'd have been lucky to make it out of the Albert Hall alive and in one piece, by the sound of it!

(PS, if you ever DO get to meet him and love him to death, can you try and pinch one of his guitars for me? Ta!)

Alice is great! My husband and I have been fans for years and years. Seen him in concert twice. Crazy live shows, but a lot of fun. His "from the inside" album is pure genuis!

I remember reading a book about the history of fashion years ago. It claimed that Alice Cooper was solely responsible for revolutionizing teen fashion in the 70's.

I know this is damn-near blasphemy 2 say 2 hard core Alice fans, but I really like the song "Poison".

Other than that, I find him very underrated 4 his influence on music and style.

Alice is criminally under-rated. His theatrical style has been incredibly influencial over the years. Everyone from Kiss to Rob Zombie has taken cues from him.
