Yeah Niceone Purpleone. Must admit I havent responded to this yet as I was just too damn excited !

As soon as I read this post earlier in the week I booked 8 tickets cause I know 8 people who will go & see this man no matter what the f*ck he looks like. The man made the best album of the 90's & the best album of this decade so far. Fact. Aint no one I know that has ditched the D Man - the music is what counts & I'm very very sure that he's still got what it takes to make amazing music.

Same thing for me purple one: don't worry, I got my 2 tickets for Paris yesterday! This is AMAZING!

Anyone knows what the line up might be ? Questlove involved ? Vague track list ? Will the Paris concert be his first one ? Is he in good shape ? (that picture of him which circulated a few weeks ago was really scary)

Anyway this is great. I saw the voodoo tour and have to say this was the best concert experience of my life (and believe me, I have seen lots of concerts) along with the best Prince experiences....This was an all-stars line up (Questlove, Raphael Saadiq), the band was amazingly tight, I suspect that might not be the case this time but we will see...

a source close to pino palladino (bassist) and
gilles peterson (uk dj) has supposedly confirmed
d'angelo will be playing in paris on may 29th and
london on may 30th.

okayplayer is still hesitant to confirm. mostly
because they believe d won't be ready (physically)
any sooner than end of summer. and why would he
promote something that isn't released?--something
he's never done.

it's not clear whether this will be a tryout show,
where new music will be previewed (like the early
tryouts from prince at first ave) or just a quick
way to make a buck, where he'll revisit his older
material (like bilals last tour).

Lets keep our fingers crossed.

I'd lost track of D Angelo and that pic really made me sit up! He was such a beautiful man. To be honest though - don't we all end up widening our load as we get older.

In two minds about the gig. Has anyone seen him recently? Is he on form or should I prepare myself for disappointment?

on may 26th. folks were passing out
flyers, but i checked the paradiso
website and tracy bonham's booked
for that night.
