Stanley Clarke (and Friends) ...There seems to be a small bass theme running through here over the last few days (from Graham and slap Bass to Jamerson To Jaco), so I decided to put up a pictorial for Bass legend Stanley Clarke:

I only got "cool as ice". But the instumental is cool though. Iam sure u'd all hate it though. Infact, I wish their was more on the album of the score. | |

Yeah he's got legions of film scores...I couldn't begin to count 'em all... ... True. One of them, I can name of the top of my head is Boyz N The Hood. | |

I got that too. I think there is a nice instrumental on there. Have to dig it out (at least for the ice cube joint "how to survive in south central....." I love that song. | |

Thanks for this thread. My 1st exposure to Stanley was the "School Days" LP. Once I heard that, I never looked back. The picture of Stanley with Larry Graham is priceless!! Stanley has proved himself over the years to be a versatile and influental musician. My fave Stanley moment was when he was on Arsenio back in the early 90's. He came out and played bass and Gregory Hines (R.I.P) tapped danced to his bass playing (mindblowing). Did anyone see the BET Jazz tribute to him? | |

No, I missed the BET Jazz Tribute unfortuantely b/c I don't get Bet Jazz on my cable system here unfortuately . But, I the tribute was excellent. | |
