Those songs are great, but the slow songs are remarkale! Can't you see that!?

I don't disagree at all. My problem with the album, on the whole, is that it isn't cohesive. The songs don't really dovetail into one another nicely. The two I listed were the "gems" that sprung to mind, and certainly aren't the only ones.

Personally, I would love to see George do a double album, structured the way he did his "best of" collection: with one ballad disc and one dance disc. This was suppossed to be the concept with Listen Without Prejudice, but we never got Volume 2.

I like Patience, but I don't love it on the level I did Older. I was just dissapointed that it wasn't the masterpiece I thought George had in him.

Older WAS his masterpiece. Patience was very good, but most of the ballads were pointless, meandering crap.

most of the songs had no unify theme or sound to draw them together as a coheisve album.

John and Elvis are Dead, Cars and Trains, Round Here, and Shoot the Dog are some form of social comentary

My Mother had a Brother and Flawless are gay themed, and i think Freeek! would have worked with theses two.

Amazing, American Angel, Please Send Me Someone do have a common theme.

maybe if he had worked more on sequencing ti owuld have been a better album.

That's not an insult. Prince suffers from this same problem. He often has an album full of brilliant tunes, but the sequence just seems whacked. There are some fantastic tunes on Patience, but they don't flow into one another well. The sequencing could have made this album much better. Its a good album, but it isn't great.

GM is still fantastic, and I still enjoy his stuff. I hope he puts aside all this "I'm not going to release any more albums" BS and gives us something new real soon.

I didn't take it as an insult, I just think that the songs DO flow nicely into one another.
