Whatever. This coming from a Slash/G&R fan whose main influence was Page and Zeppelin. And every Zep fan that saw them live that I've talked to will NEVER say they got bored with their shows. They say it was the best rock concert they ever went to.

Hav you seen them live back in the day? If not, have you watched the live double DVD that was released two years ago? That has the best documentation of their live shows. Because if you haven't seen it, there's no way you could say that Zeppelin's performances were in any way boring.

Yeah, of course Zep were/are a HUGE influence on the Rock scene (and I am proud to hail from not too far from where they originated).
For some reason, though, every time I think of Zep recently, all I get in my head is an image of Pagey scraping that violin bow over his beautiful Les Paul for like 4 hours or something.

I agree that there are some great moments on the DVD though...I forget the song title, is it Since I've Been Loving You or something...It starts with a lazy, yearning blusey bit from Mr Page. Very nice!

Yeah, it's Since I've Been Loving You. One of my favorite moments from '73. Also check out the Earls Court show that's on there when they do In My Time of Dying. That moment alone is what made me jump from fan to ridiculously obssessed fan of the band.

I play Rock N Roll with my band, but we tease audiences with the intro to Stairway.. It works great, just as we lull them into a gentle mood and the singing should start...the drum intro to Rock N Roll crashes in and then the guitar and then WALLOP we have them by the throat



I think Angus Young has a very similar style to Jimmy Page, too. Really like his playing, nice balance of balls-to-the-wall ROCK and tasteful, gentler bluesy stuff.

I also think, and again I expect the death penalty for this, that on the Back In Black album (and not ever since for some reason) Brian Johnson's voice sounds very robert Plant in specific places.

Angus rocks. I have some cool live footage of recent ACDC performances, and he still has it.

I actually like Brian Johnson's contribution to the band and that album is my favorite I think. I will also be stoned to death by the Bon Scott fans now I think.

Sure, Bon was great, but they are still a monster band and BJ has proven himself to be a worthy frontman and vocalist for them.
