Stanley Clarke (and Friends)

...There seems to be a small bass theme running through here over the last few days (from Graham and slap Bass to Jamerson To Jaco), so I decided to put up a pictorial for Bass legend Stanley Clarke:

Stanley with Al Di Meola Stanley with Chaka Khan
Stanley with Carlos Santana and Herbie Hancock

Stanley with Larry Graham

Stanley with Jeff Beck

Stanley with Ron Wood

Stanley with John Mclaughlin and Herbie Hancock

Stanley with George Duke (Clarke/Duke Project)

Stanley with George Benson, Larry Coryell, Paco Delucia, and John Mclaughlin
Stanley with Larry Graham and The Crusaders
with Billy Cobham

Return To Forever: Stanley, Chick Corea, Al Di Meola, Lenny White

Animal Logic: Stanley with Stewart Copeland and Deborah Holland

Stanley with Victor Wooten, Armand Sabaal-Lecco and Ivan Bodley

nod Pali, I am glad that you dedicated a thread to my boy. He's a hell of an bass player. As a kid, I grew up listening to a lot of his albums. I am especially fond of his collaborations with George Duke. Thanks for taking me back! fro headbang guitar

Thanks for this thread. My 1st exposure to Stanley was the "School Days" LP. Once I heard that, I never looked back. The picture of Stanley with Larry Graham is priceless!! Stanley has proved himself over the years to be a versatile and influental musician. My fave Stanley moment was when he was on Arsenio back in the early 90's. He came out and played bass and Gregory Hines (R.I.P) tapped danced to his bass playing (mindblowing). Did anyone see the BET Jazz tribute to him?
