"Just Say Julie, bop bop baaaaaaaa, yeah!!!!!" Oh man, I used to love this show back in the day. Back when MTV mattered in the late 80's there was room for more than just music (as it still is today). You also had a lot of comedy shows and stuff. This was one of the funniest. And at least it was still about the music.
That wacky comedienne herself, Julie Brown hosted this satirical show in which she was the ego-maniacal star, and often made fun of the popular artists at the time. The one part the I remember the most was this new cereal that she was promoting called "Prince Pops", which of course, was a satire of our hero. And in between skits, they would show music videos (they showed the "1999" video after that particular scene ). I'm pretty sure some of you actually remember "Just Say Julie" back then. I found this on the IMDB
User Comments: Just Say Brilliant, 17 June 2001 Author: rosaliez from NY This is a gem, an underrated classic. The wardrobe looked like it was designed by Betsey Johnson on a binge; yes, Julie was kooky. And that was all played to the hilt. But that's what made the show work, because instead of fluff and nonsense you got satire and commentary with no apologies. This show was not afraid to be politically incorrect before it was even fashionable. Popular videos were interspersed with Julie's unbiased opinions, often putting her employer MTV at odds with the outraged artists. After a Sheena Easton video, Julie suggested that maybe we should all sleep with Prince so he could write hit songs for us as well. Other favorite targets were "Whine-y" Houston and Tawny Kataen (in her role as wife-at-the-time of David Coverdale). The running joke was her delusion of Jon Bon Jovi as her fiancee. I would love to see a version of this series for a new generation. Can you imagine how she would skewer the Boy Bands and artists such as Britney Spears, etc.? Shows like "Ally McBeal" seem contrived as they strain to be offbeat, quirky and smart. This show just is.

she was in "earth girls are easy" and sang the classic "because I'm a blonde" song. I wondered what happened to her?

This show was hilarious. She did one skit where she was getting into a fight with Stevie Nicks, and took a baseball bat and knocked her head off. It was a goofy looking mannequin with a frizzy blonde wig impersonating Stevie.

This show was awesome..I vaguely remember a "PMS show" where she just kept eating chocolate and saying all kinds of nasty stuff. She then beat up a cameraman for looking at her wrong. I also seem to remember that she had a Stevie Wonder head on the set that would tell her she looked great no matter what she wore, LOL!! Those were the days for MTV..I have a ton of Remote Controls on VHS but sadly, not this show! Matt "Because when you say annihilation my friends, you've said all there is to say" - Henry Rollins

I loved this show. Wasn't there some running joke about her being in love with the guy with Whitesnake and being pissed off at Tawnie Kattan. That show is DVD worthy but they would never get the rights to the videos, where she would "appear". That was a great MTV show. Low budget but high on talent.

Just Say Julie was the sh*t! Julie Brown is brilliant. By the way, they were actually called "Prince Puffs". She found a purple roach in them and decided 2 sue Prince. During the next video she played, she listed off all of the humiliating things she would do 2 people she didn't like with her new wealth from the lawsuit. did I mention I LOVE that show???...
