Jaco Pastorius

The Fretless Bass master and progenitor of "Punk-Jazz", Jaco launched Electric Bass from the back of the band to the Front Lines, while retaining its' role as the anchor, and, along with Stanley Clarke, Larry Graham, and Bootsy Collins, helped redifine the insrument...

My Favorite Jaco Tracks:

Continuum, Three Views Of A Secret, Teen Town (with Weather Report), A Remark You Made (w/ Weather Report), Portrait Of Tracy, John and Mary, Hejira (with Joni Mitchell), Black Crow (Shadows and Light '79, with Joni Mitchell), Donna Lee, In France They Kiss on Main Street (Shadows and Light '79, with Joni Mitchell), Bright Size Life (w/ Pat Metheny), Chromatic Fantasy, Kuru/Speak Like A Child....

Great Tracks! I also love three cuts he recorded with Michel Colombier: "Dreamland", "Spring", and "Bird Song"...

I love some of the bootlegs he did with Hiram Bullock in the early 80's in NYC and his work with Joni Mitchell.
